Description

I just ask that you debate in the intended spirit. I don't have the time to make my resolutions bulletproof. I want to spend my time debating

I live in florida. I guess I'll refrain from cutting my dick off. That is an insane length to travel

-->
@Wylted

No, but Kansas City meets both of the following criteria for why I advocate sending all transgender athletes there for a track meet. The criteria are:

1) It is a relatively big city
2) It is in the approximate center of the US

Do you hate Kansas city or something?

-->
@Nyxified

If it were up to me, I would send all the US transgender athletes to one stadium in Kansas city and have them compete there.

-->
@TheUnderdog

I would disagree on that. I believe the issue of transgender people in sports boils down to the questions of "can a transgender athlete compete without an advantage or disadvantage with a cisgender athlete most of the time?" And/or "are the traits/factors regularly seen in transgender athletes that would imply an advantage or disadvantage not already seen in cisgender athletes?" These are questions that should be answered by experts, not by individual stadiums, lest we leave a huge opening for transphobia and people's preconceived notions. The extent I would agree with you is that stadiums and teams should be able to choose at what point in your transition/what threshold of ___ you are at that you should be able to participate.

-->
@Wylted

The public schools have to abide by the rules of the stadium owners. Pro sports can decide for themselves whether or not to allow trans women to compete with cis women in sports. Maybe the transgenders can compete in leagues separate from male sports or female sports or something.

-->
@TheUnderdog

The problem would be that with public high schools, and the fact many professional sports do get massive amounts of subsidies to keep or bring teams to certain areas.

@Nyxified

I think on small issues like this, get the government out of the equation and let individual stadiums decide how they will race people.

-->
@Undefeatable

Most people arguing it should be allowed, are doing so onthe basis transgender students do not have an advantage.

-->
@Wylted

Of course it’s unfair. The question is whether it should be allowed despite unfairness

I guess I should say neonaticide as opposed to infanticide.

I read through that. Very interesting

-->
@Barney

I am sympathetic to mothers in tough situations. Infanticide is common in some cultures and particularly among poor females in desperate situations. The subject has been studied ignificantly, and ultimately I do think.most bbn of the arguments for abortion can be applied to infanticide and Steven Pinker has written extensively about it.

I certainly don't think it should be legal, but the women resorting to it, probably are typically being punished too harshly.

For such a debate, there are probably some good quotes to be found at: https://www.debate.org/opinions/should-fourth-trimester-abortion-be-legal

@Bones

I oppose abortion also. I'm willing to debate in favor of a more extreme position though. Legalization of infanticide. Send me the challenge.

-->
@Wylted

I'm an atheist who is against abortion.

@Bones

I want to get 4 debates going at once right now. If there is a topic we both like, I am usually okay debating either side of whatever it is you have interesting to debate.
