I think I have a similar singing style (deeper toned but not massively deeper) than Keane's singer and therefore I am very, very similar to a lot of that 'type' such as the Killers (not British, I know), John Lennon and even if you were to tone his voice to go deep instead of high when it went loud, James Blunt.

I can genuinely sing a long to those songs when I'm home alone and hit every note and stuff, I just got no interest in the fame (nor would I admit and want my identity revealed if I'd done a youtube cover of them). So, the reason I like that kind of soft-soft rock is a lot to do with my own ability to sing along to it.

Keane are too soft. Oasis are OK.... I prefer Coldplay from that era, they're a classier stadium act.

I prefer bands from much earlier like Yes, Pink Floyd and Genesis. And a bit later on I was really into Dire Straits and very early Queen.

At the moment I listen to Steve Hackett a lot (Ex Genesis)...Check out some of his live performances of tracks like Suppers ready, Firth of Fifth and Shadow of the Heirophant.

I also like Jon Andersons (Ex Yes) Icelandic concert performances with Todmobile and Orchestra.

And then there's Klaus Schultz, Tangerine Dream, King Crimson etc etc.

And I also love listening to Alanis Morissette. I think she has a very special voice.

Oddly perhaps, I always thought that the Beatles and Rolling Stones were pretty naff...And David Bowie.

As for classical....The genre is so broad...There's so much good music to discover..

Should have chosen music the voters would have liked I mainly just posted stuff I liked.

@Reece101

no, that song has a lot of edm in it. the genre 'pop' doesn't exist, it means popular at the time aimed to please the general/generic audience.

Pop has gone from being rock-oriented to being edm-oriented from the previous generation to now. Before the rock generation it was rock 'n' roll and country oriented.

back in the day, Mozart was a pop artist, now we call him classical.

@RationalMadman

Like you said, your round 1 was a pop song with elements of EDM. By elements of EDM I assumed you meant there’s a remix out there.

@zedvictor4

does Oasis and Keane count as what you see as good rock or are they too soft?

I got a lot of stuff that someone into softer British rock would like but I wasn't sure the others would enjoy it, it's also why I didn't go for an obvious choice like The Beatles

@RationalMadman

No problem.

Just another honest vote.

Tastes vary.

I'm more into Prog Rock and Certain Classical stuff.

Would be fun to see you and BPD do a classic battle.

Thanks for the votes.

I'm shocked Reece docked me for the very Round I had put a song I was sure he'd love and that same Round I reckoned Zedvictor wouldn't enjoy, he really did.

I played it very relatively safe this time vs any of these I've done before but I could afford to as I felt that only someone into the very specific type of oldschool soft rock that BPD was presenting would vote him to win and that niche may still have enjoyed my round 3, camila cabello and the 'colors' Round.

I liked BPD's Round 4 and 3 quite a bit and actually personally don't dislike his music choice as much as you guys do but I was sure he was going too far in that direction that if I stuck to solid all-rounders except the Round he brought rap (where I gave an all-rounded rap kind of), I'd secure victory.

I am actually very curious what Ramshutu scores though because Ramshutu's taste is both towards my edm stuff and towards BPD's oldschool rock stuff

@Reece101

give a split of 7-0, 5-2 or 4-3 depending how close you think it is,

Alternatively just give 7

don't do 6-1 that is a pointless split

The vote settings are different. It’s based on best spelling, conduct, etc.
