Description

We will debate what A-Tier anime series (Any series that has gained massive views, so no Pop Team Epic, no Food Fight, No CITRUS! Etc.) We will debate the series we both choose based on the entire show. The plot, music, animation, fighting (if Shonen), and characters in the debate.

If I missed a series, ask me before you debate, just to make sure it's A-Tier

I will be debating that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is the best A-Tier Anime.

I'm still debating on DDO. I feel bad leaving for the most part. But hey, at least 21stCenturyiconoclast debates me now XD!

Let's see your argument first.

V. Bleach - I put this a hair under Naruto, some days right at the same level. I really love Bleach and the music is magnificent. I did hate that one specific filler arc "Bount arc" that came after the Rescue Rukia arc though smh, but I pushed through lmfao. I just really wish the series ended well, but it was somehow rushed from my understanding. Even still imo Full bringer arc was good, but it got boring after the whole Aizen thing. Aizen is my top favorite villain out of all the anime I have seen thus far lmao, Aizen fan boy.

VI. Akame ga kill - I heard the manga has a much different story than from the anime as well. Interesting.

l. Ah, I see. I'm an anime watcher not a manga reader. I dunno, I just prefer to watch it all in action, movement and music. Manga just isn't my thing but I do love the drawings. I attempted to get into the 1,000 year blood war arc (Bleach manga after it ended) but that arc was waaaaaaay too long, so I decided to drop it.

ll. Out of all my recommendations, Hunter x Hunter is the utmost important. This series is a gem. I won't even say much. It's a must watch. It will change your life! Compelling is the accurate word to use for HxH. And this series literally has one of the best power systems in anime. I assume you've seen a shit ton of anime from your list and you've also seen some great anime. You gotta add HxH on your list. I'd be really pleased if you eventually find the time to give HxH a go! I'm re watching it right now too.

lll. One piece - I agree with the pacing 100%. Snail pacing lmao. I have a love hate relationship with One piece. The series great for what it is, but at the same time, I can write a full blown list of it's flaws. It's like a line graph that goes up for excitement, then goes down for disappointment - for each arc. I almost dropped One piece twice, gave it a break but I still kept it pushing. Man I have some really good patience. Not to mention other flaws for me, art style, pacing, and more. And yeah I notice the manga for OP is notorious and some people prefer it over the anime.

lV. Naruto - My life. My obsession. Grew up on Naruto. It's got it's flaws and all but it will always be in a special place in my heart. It makes no sense how much I love this series, seen it way too many times to count. Re watching it right now.

Here's the list I came up with after some thought. It's most likely still incomplete.

Should make one of those lists, though it'd be hard to find everything. My watching has been rather eclectic over the years.

I will say it's not quite that simple. Much as it's basically indisputable that FMA:B is a better done series in almost every way, the points where it's lacking the most come early. It rushes through a lot of the character building moments at the beginning of the series, particularly the story with Shou Tucker and some of the early stuff with their master, Izumi Curtis. It's not devastating, but it does make the emotional moments early on lose some punch. Not that I don't have any problems with FMA:B, but it might be one of the most tightly crafted anime series I've ever seen in any medium.
I finished the manga for Fairy Tail. It's a pretty decent series, to be sure, but it's a little trope-y for my liking, and I think other series have done this kind of story far better. Some of the fight scenes are truly triumphant, and I'm a fan of some of the characters, I just found that I was never as invested in this as I should have been. It certainly isn't trash, just nothing special.
Admittedly, haven't watched Hunter X Hunter, though I've been told I need to rectify that. I'm still a big fan of One Piece, though I think the anime has pacing issues. Honestly, that's one instance in which I'd say that the manga is stronger. I've gone through phases with Naruto, and though I have issues with a great deal of the story, the themes stick with me pretty well and the fight scenes are, at least to my knowledge, largely unmatched. Bleach is... well, I finished the manga, and let's just say I've been severely disappointed by it. Up through the end of the Rescue Rukia Arc, it was one of my all-time favorite anime. Past that point, it ranges from decent to incredibly frustrating. Akame ga Kill was admittedly a better manga than an anime, though it's pretty decent. I wouldn't call it one of my favorites. If I had to give a shortlist, my favorites would include Fate Zero, Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan, Cowboy Bebop, Mob Psycho 100, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Made in Abyss.

I haven't seen the original, only a bit of it because I remember seen it when I was younger, but people just recommend FMAB since they are the same story right? Just better animation. And they said it's from the manga right. So I just decided to go with FMAB since new animation. Similar to Hunter x Hunter 1999 version and the 2011 version. I just watched the 2011 version. I already know I'm gonna have a hell of a journey with FMAB, I know it will be great. I notice HxH and FMAB are the only series that I never seen anyone complain about, and they all love it like it's so perfect y'know? It's that good! Ah, Fairy Tail. I do love it, don't get me wrong but I just have to get farther along and finish it and then wait to judge. I do feel where you are coming from. There are some good moments and I love the characters but I'm not really like reeled in yet. For me, it has a lot of childish moments. So far, I'm trying to force myself to keep watching since I'm so far. Fairy Tail gets a lot of hate (I don't think it deserves it though) and everyone calls it trash. Maybe because it's real kiddy but nevertheless it's still good. I've never really been a big fan of like magic, wizards, and those types of things anyways. I just decided to watch since people told me and watch and they said it's good, and it actually sounded and looked interesting, I've got some favorite characters in the series and characters to ship too so lol. But, Naruto, HxH, Bleach & One piece are my everything. :D And Akame ga Kill is also one of my favorite series of all time. Planning to watch it for the 10th time lol.

@King_8

No joke, FMA:B is one of the best series out there. I was a fan of the original series as well, though this is a substantial improvement. Fairy Tail has its moments, though I can't say it's one of my favorites. Lots of good series out there, always happy to talk anime.

@InFakeWars

Okay well be careful with spoilers especially on HxH because there's a very specific epic legendary moment that happes lol so just be careful searching up different images of HxH. HxH is the type of show that might very well get ruined for you if it gets spoiled. But no need to worry, I will not spoil at all. Anyways good luck in debate. Hope you enjoy HxH!

I just started FMAB about a week ago. I watched some of it when I was little but not all of it so I know at least what it's about but I'm like on episode 5. Always wanted to actually see the whole thing and I know its loved by so many people. Can't wait to continue watching. I'm also watching Fairy Tail right now, still on first season (ep 80)

-->
@King_8

I'm still on first season XD. Just started it a week ago. Don't worry about spoilers much. Idc as much about spoilers.

-->
@InFakeWars

Okay thanks for telling me. I'll try and be as vague as possible then and I won't be too clear. What episode or arc of HxH are you on? That way I know what to avoid (best way I can)

If I talk about something in the future and episodes you haven't seen yet, then I will be really vague.

-->
@King_8

No, I haven't seen all of hunter x hunter yet, but it's fine. I know the basics. I understand the plot. Spoilers don't make me angry as much anymore, now that someone spoiled Endgame for me.

No, each debate will be overall. Round 1-5 will be about the entire series.

-->
@InFakeWars

Last Q, will each round be different segments and caterogies? Like R1- fights, R2 - music, something like that? Or we just do what we want.

pig

@InFakeWars

Good luck

@InFakeWars

The anime I will choose is Hunter x Hunter. Few rules/disclaimers/questions.
1. Infake, you've see all of HxH right? Wouldn't want to spoil anyone.
2. For anyone that is viewing, be aware of spoilers, especially if you haven't finished a specific series.
3. Infake, we are arguing for only one anime, right? It cannot be more than one right? An anime that's A-tier.

Lastly, everyone knows how I feel about Naruto lol you can even check DDO + here. But that would be too easy and boring since I've done it so many times. I need to give HxH some love, so bad.

-->
@InFakeWars

I'd take this if I'd seen JoJo's. In terms of additions, here's a short list of things that should rise to the level of A-Tier (at least if we're comparing with those you've given):

Death Note
Code Geass
Fullmetal Alchemist
Sword Art Online
Angel Beats
Elfen Lied
Attack on Titan
Fairy Tail
Cowboy Bebop
Evangelion
Hellsing
Rurouni Kenshin
K-On
Darker than Black
Pokemon
Yugioh

The list to choose from, if anyone missed it:

Dragon Ball series (DBZ, DBZ Kai, DBS)
Naruto
Hunter x Hunter
My Hero academia
One Punch Man
Bleach
Boruto
Black Clover
One Piece
