If you have kids, are thinking about kids, or even if you're not really at the point of thinking about having kids, what would you consider naming your children? What are your ideal baby names?

I'll share mine. I have some traditional Gaelic names to reflect my Irish heritage, quite a few German names to reflect my German heritage, and some Russian names because, to me, they sound attractive. There are also a few names of various extractions included.

Here was my previous thread on this topic. Feel free to comment on other people's proposed baby names.

Since your gay, wouldn't the only kids you have would be adopted?

Well, it is possible to have children related to one parent, but not the other. That is, for example, what Elton John and his husband did. They had two children, one related to each of them. There is also interesting research in stem cells going on which may allow for gay couples to have biologically related children in the future.

Yes, but so is adoption. You'd be surprised at how many legal hurdles exist for gay men attempting to have kids. That's why most gay men are such committed parents, because they didn't get kids on a whim or as an accident.

Their justification is that gay parents mess up kids.  Right wing sources confirm this, left wing sources deny it.  Since I saw a reliable source that agreed with the left, I am fine with gays adopting.

Like what?

What is more expensive?  IVF or adoption?

Adoption involves a lot of legal hurdles, inspections, waiting periods, fees, etc. IVF is still probably more expensive.

I want to adopt when I am old enough and financially stable enough.  Seems like the Pro life thing to do.  Pro choicers say that pro lifers need to adopt and I'm like "whatever".

I think the restrictions are nessesary to ensure the kid wont be in a messed up home.

Question, why do y'all want kids? I'm super young, lol, way younger than y'all, but I don't understand why anyone really wants kids. I always think it's too much of a responsibility and I don't want to take care of one or more other people for 18+ years. Or maybe that's just because I'm a kid

but I don't understand why anyone really wants kids.
I guess I can try before they tell you themselves:

Social thing where people are kinda nudged to have kids as seen through friends, family or media.
Going to get boring nearing the middle and end of your life if you are not with kids.
Carry on the lineage or something.
Some biological aspect which makes you feel like having children.
Feel like they can provide a good life for them while also improving themselves as people.

I could possibly think of more but I'll leave it at that.

Yeah I get that, I'm TERRIFIED of boredom in the middle of my life, I just don't think that children will be the solution for me though, kudos to all the people trying to be awesome parents though :)

You never know where life would take you in the future. Think about how your life was about couple of years ago. I doubt you would think you would be in the position you are in now. Things change. You could have children even if you don't see yourself having any currently.
kudos to all the people trying to be awesome parents though :)
I guess.

I don't know. I have always wanted kids...about 5 would be nice. But maybe once I have them, my opinion will change.

So I've heard, but cats eat rodents and insects, I just had a GIANT roach crawling in my bedroom last night and I had to sleep in my living room, so a cat would help, plus they're soooooooooo cuuuuuuuuuuuuuute

But dogs are easier to train
