The bible when detached from the church is not taken in its proper context.

What truly matters is what we use it to teach.

True. The Bible is used to teach.

To teach that people of minority groups are to be hated.

To teach people what they can and cannot do with their genitals.

To teach utter lies about the promise of an afterlife.

To teach fear.

To teach immorality.

To teach anti-social behavior.

To teach elitism.

Not true

To teach people what they can and cannot do with their genitals.
Again not true

To teach utter lies about the promise of an afterlife.
Can you disprove an afterlife?

To teach fear.
What is wrong with fear
,it
can be a great motivator

To teach immorality.
Not true

To teach anti-social
behavior
Actually just the opposite

.
To teach elitism.
It may mention many things such as elitism, but people take things out of context and make other grammatical errors
to intentionally or inadvertently interpret the Bible wrong. Mentioning that something exists does not necessarily promote it.

If we say that we don't believe these things, and you insist that we do, is that not arrogant?

I know better what I believe than you ever could.

That is why if you really want to know what I believe, you have to have the humility to admit that I know my faith better than you, and the charity to believe that I am telling you the truth as I understand it without any attempt to deceive.

If you are the kind of person who thinks thst something someone did in highscool makes them a bad person 50 years later, you probably wouldn't think too much of Moses, who murdered somebody.

But we know that even murderers can be made right if they sincerely turn their life around.

There are many examples of saints who were robbers, thieves, and murderers who turned their life around. The person they ended up becoming is nothing like they were.

I myself did a lot of bad things when I was younger. Most of the time it was out of ignorance, but even then there were times when I did things I knew were wrong. I am a different person today.
