What I honestly think needs to be done in order to establish peace on the Irish island is for the UK to send 7 million British people to Ireland, the country.  From there, the island would vote for British annexation in exchange for the UK rejoining the EU, and Britain stays in the EU and can annex Ireland.  Peace and unification is established on the Irish island; under British rule.  Plus Ireland gets some more people which they really need.

Thoughts?

Absolutely disagree, Ireland is not a British state,We fought for our Independence for over 800 years!!! We now have a flourishing country and a homeland where Irish people all around the world can be free to visit

Peace and unification is established on the Irish island; under British rule.
Peace through ethnic cleansing?

All of THIS just so it can be British again, no thanks

No loss of life through genocide necessary.  The only thing necessary is shipping consenting British people over to the island.  It also would enhance the Irish economy since they get more urbanization.

They have so much in common with the British already.  They both are anglophone nations who have strict gun laws.

Ireland is not an urbanized country, they have one large city and the rest is farmland, we dont need all that people. Ireland's potential is not to be urbanized but to have one large city and a series of smaller cities for the local area.

They have so much in common with the British already.  They both are anglophone nations who have strict gun laws.
No they don't, it's clear you haven't been to the isles but there is a big difference. There is no such thing as the British, the two islands are divided up

English
Irish
Scottish
Welsh

The Welsh are ancient Britons when the Romans came, the English is a combination of Scandinavian and Germanic people, the Scottish are the ancient picts that stopped Rome, and the Irish are native to the Island of Ireland. Do you see the outlier, Scotland, Ireland, Welsh are native while England is not, this is the difference, Irish are CELTS, English are Germanic and have a little bit of viking in them

I honestly can't tell the difference between Celtic and Germanic people.  They are all Europeans to me.

Can't Wales and Scotland become part of England?  I mean, if Scotland was part of England, then there wouldn't be the separatist movement that is in the country right now, since the locals would see themselves as English; not even British, but English.  Same for Wales.  I hope these regions have no more autonomy than any other part of England.

Can't Europe sacrifice their language multiculturalism for unification?  I mean, one unifying language did wonders for the Untied States.

Alec, that's not how Europe works, USA was born in 1777 and has a drawn for immigrants, differences in Europe have been going on for thousands  of years, America can be a melting pot but Europe where all these people originally came from, can not, you can not unify everybody under one language

USA was born in 1777 and has a drawn for immigrants

These immigrants came from Europe.  They weren't all British.  The Irish assimilated.  Same with the Welsh and the Scots.  They sacrificed their culture to unify.

America can be a melting pot but Europe where all these people originally came from, can not, you can not unify everybody under one language
We gradually can.  Just teach all the youth Euro-English (a variation of English) in addition to their native language in a bilingual setting, wait 50 years, let the people travel across the EU relying on Euro English as the lingua franca, and the English language would unify the EU.  Separatist movements become obsolete.  Already, a majority of EU residents know English.  We just gotta get every youth person to learn the language and to make every EU nation have English as an official language in addition to the native language.

they assimilated because America is a land for immigrants, not Europe

False.  It has caused less movement around Europe since people don't want to learn new languages, and it is the reason why Europe's GDP per capita is half that of the US.  Also, the EU is less stable than America and much more likely to fall apart because culture divides people that would otherwise be united.

Europe is different From America in that all of the American immigrants were from different homelands, it worked in America because that was the American identity, one of immigrants, Europe you can immigrate so why should we achieve that goal.

America's GDP is higher because of it's advancement in Technology

This technology was achieved by Americans being able to travel easier across state lines due to a language similarity.  English speaking countries tend to have higher GDP per capitas because of the trade it allows with the US.

Yes, but it trades more with English speaking countries because it's easier to do so.  You don't need to hire translators for the trip.  Given that much trade is done by small businesses, saving money on a translator is a huge asset.  Multiple languages to the point to where 2 parties can't understand each other are walls to prosperity, trade, and economic success.

Languages are impossible to avoid, people are going to form languages anyway, the American style of immigrants can not be copied In Europe

Due to globalization, more languages are being destroyed than created, and I'm happy for that.  People 100 years from now can still use native languages, but it won't make an impact much compared to the Euro English majority that would be in effect after 100 years if things go according to plan.

I don't think China can do that.  They're having trouble sending 20 million Chinese to Tibet; a region that China currently owns and is more similar to China than the US.  They'd have to cross an ocean to get to here.

I’m not asking about if it is possible. I’m asking how you would feel if one country sent a large number of people to your country and completely ignored the will of the majority of the people there. Would you or would you not like that and why?
