No, I am not ever going to make an "AMA" thread. I am not stupid enough to convince myself that people give a fuck about what I think about random stupid shit and not arrogant enough to pretend that they do.

- DD 2017

Okay fine this coronavirus shit has me bored out of my fucking skull. I have the night off work but none of my friends are willing to do anything because "wahhh coronavirus and the government will get mad if I leave my house". Fucking pussies. All I can do to pass the time is stay at home and drink so I guess to relieve the boredom I will do something gay like make an AMA or something.

- DD 2020

Lay it on me fuck-O's.

"Argue for your limitations; they're yours." - Richard Bach

That is an argument for expelling self-imposed limitations. Taking an active role in learning is always available. Read something about which you currently know nothing. Why do you insist it is not available?

What do you think aboutrandom stupid sh*t?

A wise man once said:

The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning. It's to just keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you'll be dead.

Ethan: That wasn't a man that said that, it was a dog.

DD: Yeah well that's true but...

Ethan: Not a particularly wise dog either.

DD: Okay, also true... The point though...

Ethan: And furthermore...

DD: Look guy, it's just the first thing that popped in my head and I went with it.

Ethan: Why did you tag Supa though?

DD: Oh, that? Supa will be fine don't worry. Don't worry about Supa.

Ethan: What?

I met Bobby Mc. When he was teaching in Philly. Memories.

I asked. You answered.

It's a documentary on NetFlix - its currently the most watched tv show

In “Tiger King,” filmmakers Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin explore the world of big cat owners — centering on Joe Exotic, proprietor of an Oklahoma roadside zoo, who is a “mulleted, gun-toting polygamist and country western singer,” per Netflix’s description of the docuseries. Things turn dark after animal activist Carole Baskin, owner of a big cat sanctuary, tries to shut down the big-cat breeders, leading to Joe Exotic’s arrest in connection with murder-for-hire plot.

the number of people and their complex, corrupt interrelations make a good mafia theme.  Good guys vs. bad guys keeps shifting.

This coronavirus shit has me bored out of my fucking skull.
And yet you have no time.

And so you are doing something.

You are probably your own limiting factor then and just find things to blame your inertia upon.....Overthink.

Happiness is fleeting, almost mythical.

Contentment is bliss and contentment is internal and there for doesn't necessarily require new input or external stimuli.

There can be just as much contentment found, doing nothing as there can be found doing something.

Or it could be just a testosterone based problem.

Masturbation then, in the absence of a third party.

Things are pretty good Sunday through Thursday... Then the weekend comes around and my employer say "ehhh I don't want you showing up Friday or Saturday because I don't want you working more than 60 hours a week"

Like, wtf am I supposed to do all day Friday and Saturday then if I am not allowed outside

You tell me.

What the fuck.

I am supposed to do.

Sitting in my house.

Not allowed to hit the town.

Because government.

Not allowed to hang out with a group of people.

Because government.

Can't buy big items that I need from hardware store to keep me busy on the house.

Imagine just... Sitting there.

For two days.

In a row.

Every.

Single.

Week.

Can you imagine that?

Just try to imagine that.

You have become reliant upon a gregarious and materialistic modus operandi.

All your functional  and mental requirements start within you...In just the same way, all the solutions do too.

Your internal data sequencing has become ordered to suit an established modus operandi (habit)....If you think carefully, it is very easy to reorder  and therefore modify what has become the established or habitual behaviour that you have become reliant upon.

Thoughtfulness will lead to contentment.

And contentment is not reliant upon either materialism or gregarianism.

In fact the real key for you would to be to adopt and recognise multiple operational systems...That is to say, reorder your internal data in such a way that allows for you to be content with both an uncluttered isolate existence as well as the materialistic and gregarious existence that you currently favour.

I skimmed through your post... Something about materialism and habit forming behaviors... Not sure what that has to do with boredom. Simply not seeing g the relevance.

When people are forced into house arrest they become bored due to lack of stimuli.

This is how humans work.

No.

This is how some humans work.

Some people do not depend upon the same materialistic and social stimuli that you do.

Why are you on this debate site doing something rather than nothing?

Perhaps your tolerance of boredom is higher than mine, this is quite possible. If you wish to convince someone that your tolerance for boredom is infinite however then you will have to find someone a lot dumber than myself.
