Liberals are willing to destroy upcoming seniors livelihood for their own personal gain. They are willing to destroy the future of your children to elect someone who will delay the containment of Coronavirus. Liberals want to lockdown and force people into their homes so they can do mail in ballots. Meanwhile Trump's goal is to reopen, and is doing everything to re open. Dems have no want to re open

Dems want to get the virus under control and then re-open safely. Trump wants to throw open the economy as quickly as possible and allow the virus to kill 100's of thousands of people.

Trump wants to pretend like the virus isn't a big deal and wish it away so that people will ignore the catastrophe his response has been.

The states themselves should be the ones that lockdown. The natl gov should not automatically lock down the country because of Florida when Wyoming has barely any cases. A natl lockdown when only some states are receiving heavy spikes is foolish

You are aware that the US is one country right? And people can move around between states. If you leave a national crisis exclusively in the hands of the states, what you will get is 50 separate strategies to combat the problem. Some of them will be good. Alot of them will be bad. A national crisis requires national leadership. And trump has failed miserably.

Wrong. States need to decided for themselves which is the best option for themselves. We have mandatory lockdowns and quarantine in Chicago if you go to any Southern state. Do you think Wyoming should go back to a Phase 1 with Florida, with 1/8 of the population and a much lower infection rate of Coronavirus? The answer is no. The federal govt can set guidelines for states and make reccomendations, but to lockdown the entire country again when only some states are surging is flat out ridiculous

this is incredibly short sighted. What happens in Florida, does not stay in Florida where a pandemic is concerned. Florida didn't lock down before spring break. So tons of people went there, got sick, then took it home to lots of other states. If the virus respected borders then sure, people can choose to endanger themselves if they want. But unfortunately the virus crosses borders very easily, so a state by state plan is a really shitty idea. We need national leadership because it affects everyone.

Then other states need to lockdown Florida. If the state did not take it seriously, a stricter person needs to be in charge. It is not the place of Trump to force states to shutdown when only some states are surging ATM

Your answer makes no sense. You recognize that some states are not taking it seriously and that has serious negative impacts on the entire country. But then you say it isn't the government's job to do anything about it.

So basically, your argument is that there is nothing anyone can or should do if a state government decides to fuck over the entire country. The rest of the country should just sit back and wait to die. Sounds like a great plan.

Not even, they've had 5+ months! Teachers don't want to go to school because they make the same money sitting on their ass on Zoom versus being in class. Cut the pay in 1/2 for teachers on Zoom. They do nothing

as well as security concerns from zoom, seriously who picked zoom? a random unknwon application compared to half a dozen already established video call services from skype, teamspeak, gotomeeting, etc

and your right, 5 months to prepare for opening but delay it by 10 days! what will that do

what? Teachers can't prepare for something when the government doesn't make up it's damn mind about how the school year is going to go.

Cut the pay in 1/2 for teachers on Zoom. They do nothing
so endanger yourself, your family, and the children you are there to teach (and their families) or we punish you and drop you into poverty? That is insane.

There’s no use arguing with liberals who doesn’t understand the concept of federalism and disregard the 10th Amendment.

Some people don't want to wait for Nov 3 for the Dems to allow the country to reopen.

False dichotomy. CDC already told schools what they can do to reopen. Teachers just wanna get the easy money, especially if it also causes Trump to lose the election. Then it's definitely worth losing half a school year for the kids.

It’s funny. The Democrats want to repeal a constitutional amendment that prohibits discrimination and preferential treatment in public employment, public education, and public contracting on account of a person's or group's race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin.

Seems like they are now against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which was an “act to enforce the constitutional right to vote, to confer jurisdiction upon the district courts of the United States of America to provide injunctive relief against discrimination in public accommodations, to authorize the Attorney General to institute suits to protect constitutional rights in public facilities and public education, to extend the Commission on Civil Rights, to prevent discrimination in federally assisted programs, to establish a Commission on Equal Employment Opportunity, and for other purposes.”

Interesting huh?

true, but alot those things require significant changes to implement. That requires time and money, which they don't have.

teachers want to stay alive. And being forced to go back when they don't have the time or resources to do it safely is a serious threat to their health and the health of their families.

And anyone with a functioning brain knows that for the Systemic Democrats, control means Nov 3.

Why are conservatives itching to send kids to those communist indoctrination camps, also known as public schools? Defund the public schools and give money to parents so they can homeschool.

there are politicians that are that cynical. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But anyone with a functioning brain knows it is absolutely not under control now. So people who are pushing to re-open now either don't give a shit about how many people die or are idiots.

What is absolutely ridiculous is that Public Schools are now saying they will reopen IFFFF Charter schools (their competition) are defunded first.

Fucking crony teachers.

lol fox found 1 teachers union in 1 city that said something they don't like. So obviously all teachers are monsters and public schools must be evil. Just like all protesters are terrorists. Fox isn't even pretending like they are anything but ridiculous propaganda at this point. I don't understand why anyone would take them seriously.

Tbh I actually like school a lot, so I don’t mind having their propaganda shoved down my throat in exchange to listening to a teacher talk about World History or writing stories

There were many reports about a second wave occurring. If they don’t like Trump, they could’ve predicted the wave and adapted better. You can plan for these events looking at statistics
========
Give me a fucking break. Teachers aren’t even doing 1/2 the work they normally do in a school setting, yet are making nearly 80-100k a year and are not getting paycuts. 3/4 of the country is in a pay cut, that’s what stimulus checks are for. Cutting their pay incentives them to go to school and get working. E-Learning has failed miserably under these programs. Teachers need to go back to providing a positive environment for the students to succeed. This can not occur when teacher don’t want to go back because they make the same sitting on their ass doing nothing in a zoom call versus in a class, actively teaching and engaging

No school has negative health effects. You really want your kids staring at more screens for 8+ hours a day?

Think about seniors. Seniors won’t be able to experience the life of a senior, like you probably have. You had the privilege of attending a Homecoming, Prom, and football games. Our class may not even have that? And you want to lockdown? Give me a break

how would they do that exactly? In order to adapt they need to make significant changes, many of which would require additional funding. For example denmark installed lots of extra sinks, massively increased cleaning (which would require more hiring), cut class sizes to allow students to spread out more, staggared recesses to keep kids apart, mandated they could only stay in specific groups (no changing between groups during recess) etc. Alot of the changes that would make this work require more training and more resources. You can't do that without government support, which they aren't getting.

Give me a fucking break. Teachers aren’t even doing 1/2 the work they normally do in a school setting, yet are making nearly 80-100k a year and are not getting paycuts.
They are adapting to a global crisis the same way everyone else is and you want to punish them for that. Jesus, that is brutal.

Cutting their pay incentives them to go to school and get working.
so your position is they have to risk death for themselves and their families by returning to an unsafe school, or have their families starve? Do you not see how stupid that is?

Think about seniors. Seniors won’t be able to experience the life of a senior, like you probably have. You had the privilege of attending a Homecoming, Prom, and football games. Our class may not even have that? And you want to lockdown? Give me a break
are you willing to sacrifice your classmates lives, your life, your family's lives just so you can have a dance and football games? That is psychotic.
