One often hears about domestic violence. The brutal practice of beating your loved one for more or less trivial issues.

TicToc trends have taken this to a new level.

Abuse is now applauded if you manage to smile and dance while doing it.

Personally, I have never used TicToc. I were shocked to discover this.

Tiktok didn't make this happen, humans with social media and little going on in their brains usually do.

@RationalMadman
TikTok TRENDS made this happen. And I am pretty sure this kind of stuff is only viable on a platform like TikTok, where only ultra-short videos are viable.

No, it's viable and done on YT and Instagram. That's why you posted YT videos, those tiktokers have YT channels.

Stop blaming the platform for the users' lack of morality. Tiktok should take it down but do not for a single second blame them for the viewers rewarding the uploader, both are scum and need to take responsibility for what they did.

Again, I said TIKTOK TRENDS, not TikTok itself.

If the "victim" (read: guy getting paid to have a girl pretend to hit his balls) is the one laughing then what is the problem?

"I were shocked"

Vey rural English.

Do you live in Somerset?

One assumes that you mean TikTok and not Tick Tock the Crocodile.

It's content is it's result, which is the nature of the medium.

On...Off....It's your choice.....Something that people seem to revel in forgetting though.

Is it that you object to people joking about domestic abuse?

The Chinese equivalent of TikTok is better. It has many doctors sharing COVID-19 facts with the people at home last year.

Either way, it is the culture, not the platform. Handing a platform to a group of people who think wearing a mask has a political connotation to it wouldn't have good results whatsoever.
