About me
Hello there! You can call me Zach. Thanks for taking a gander at my profile. I'm a 24-year-old guy from Louisiana, and I love debating on any subject. I'll go ahead and use this section to describe myself. If there's anything you'd like to debate on, feel free to challenge or message me at any time!
Education:
I have a BA in History. I love all the humanities, but history is probably my favorite subject.
Religion:
I'm fascinated by all the different faiths of the world. However, I'm an atheist, and I'm quite happy the way I am. You can try to convert me if you wish, but prepare to be debated!
Political Views:
I usually feel comfortable labelling myself a liberal. I'm pretty left-leaning, but have been feeling more independent lately, mostly because of the whole Wokeness thing. Proud American and proud Joe Biden voter.
Opinions:
Pro-universal healthcare, anti-death penalty, pro-immigration, anti-Trump, pro-choice, anti-school choice, pro-social safety net, anti-affirmative action, pro-free speech, anti-fascism, pro-incrementalism, anti-Game of Thrones season 8
Books I Like:
Lord of the Rings, The Grapes of Wrath, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Iliad, Paradise Lost, 1984, Jane Eyre, Dave Barry Slept Here, the works of Will Durant, Madame Bovary, Sapiens, The Passion of the Western Mind
Commentators I Like:
Ezra Klein, Ross Douthat, Sam Harris, ContraPoints, Frank Bruni, Matthew Yglesias, John McWhorter, David French, Scott Alexander
Publications I Read (from left-wing to right-wing):
Jacobin, The New York Times, Persuasion, Quillette, The Dispatch, The Washington Times
