Same reason they built the pyramids.

Faith was not enough, people tried to make their belief tangible; but it is still only a building.

They built these magnificent buildings because they believed. The pyramids were to be tombs for the pharaohs. Ancient Egyptians believed in an afterlife.

Faith makes us do great things.
