I get that we all got a notification about the Hall of Fame thread, but people like Mopac, Janesix and whoever else (sorry, I'm not a main around these parts) will not get votes, especially not for the threads part of the voting, if your group don't contribute en masse to the voting. You are basically at least 40% of our community and you do more posting than the 60%. You're a major factor in this site's ecosystem and we do not want you guys to become a social island like you did on DDO, you are a part of our website.

To vote, visit this thread and read the Original Post.

I must admit that although I do not understand your strange obsession with 'winning' I find it fascinating.

It's called overcompensating for ones inadequacy. You must have given up a long time ago.

It will never happen, this forums average age is much, much older than the rest of the website, I say the average user in the Religion forum is 45.

    RoderickSpade-59
    Mopac-40's
    disgusted-40's
    Kethrposser-62
    Deb-8-a-Bull-41

The politics froum is much younger, with Imabnech and bmd being in their 20's

Boomers and Gen X who dominate this forum will stick to what they like. They like to stay here, leave them alone

Meanwhile, all other forums including politics and the main one are much younger, the average age I say anywhere else is 25, meanwhile here the regular posters are 47-52 years old

Do you think a certain maturity comes with age that informs one that 'winning' a popularity contest on a site designed to exchange arguments does not actually add any weight to your arguments?

It's not about that. The winner is not at all necessarily the best debater (though that can play into it) it's about reputation and status in the community.

On a site devoted to debate only adherence to logic backed by testable repeatable evidence should matter. Reputation and status are entirely superfluous.

Its exactly what it is, with age people stop caring about what other people think

In all communities online, the society respecting some within it for their contributions, is universal. The focus on debate is the superfluous element of this website, relative to the rest.

We may have to agree to disagree because my respect for you and my appreciation of your contributions to this community does not effect the likelyhood that I will be convinced by your arguments. Only the arguments themselves effect that.

I completely disagree,In fact, I couldn't disagree with something anymore. This is the INTERNET, people give zero fucks about anything

It's just that I am more aware of futility.
