The fundamental problem with Intelligent Design is that it doesn't answer any questions. It doesn't tell you who the designer was, it doesn't tell you what the designer did to design things, it doesn't tell you what tools the designer used to design things, it doesn't tell you what reason the designer had for designing you, it doesn't tell you what the designer was like, it doesn't tell you what the designers intention for you was. It doesn't really answer any questions at all. It's completely worthless.

I'm not an IDer, but it's easy to explain from their perspective. As Paul pointed out, ID doesn't explain a whole lot. One could just say that the Intelligent Designer created the world with evolution so dinosaurs and megafauna would be explained in the same way an atheist would explain them. You could even say that the designer created the world five seconds ago and fabricated all of history. As Paul said, ID explains nothing; at the same time, it explains everything. It's just warmed over deism that allows IDers to avoid religion but also explain where the universe and life comes from. It solves scientific problems without introducing any practical impact on their lives. As far as worldviews go, it's pretty much the ultimate cop-out.

Perhaps the ultimate designer, designed evolution.

If you're that clever, why waste your time creating things.

Just provide the raw materials, mix them all together in a Big Bang and then sit back and relax and see how things unfold.

Provides an ongoing source of entertainment and amusement, without the daily hassle of a 9 to 5 creation job.

The intelligent designer probably sits in their lounger chair sipping a cold beer, having a right laugh at the things we get up to.

it doesn't tell you what reason the designer had for designing you,

I have asked a similar question many times  -  why did "god" create anything at all?.  The only reply I have had to that  were words to the effect that "god" was lonely.

    God was lonely.
That's a straightforward and reasonable suggestion.

But what designed the intelligent designer?..... Probably a previously lonely designer, who also endured the same anxieties.

Dinosaurs were/are reptiles a few of which were rather large,(reptiles continue to grow for thier whole lives, assuming they have a continuous food source). The average size of dinos was about that of a sheep. Megafauna are large animals who, like dinosaurs were created for a purpose.
