So recently I was gifted Adobe Premiere Pro by my school, so I now use that software to edit videos now, which is an upgrade for my channel (which you should definitely subscribe too) and that means I had to retire the old software I used for my main editing. But this piece of software is FREE to use and produces quality effects and is easy to use. It is called Shotcut: https://shotcut.org/
It is a free, open source, video editor that is easy to use. I think it is very effective overall and honestly produces really good content. I've seen some quality edits from this:

Just like every editing software, it takes a while to learn, but it is a quick learn and with a few google searches, it is honestly a really nice editing software that can be effectively mastered and crafted
PRO'S
- effective effect uses
- easy trim and cutting of clips
- simple audio --> track
CON's
- the transitions on the software are very basic and not as good as other softwares
- depending on the computer you use, sometimes lags
If you use this software and have any questions how I did stuff. LMK
