there doesn't appear to be any cut and dry ideas about when to sell and take profits, it's more of a personal choice based on your risk/greed tolerance best I can tell.  As of right now I'm up 23% on my fedex stock which is about 1400bucks pre tax and I haven't owned it a year yet so taxed at a higher rate.  It's tempting to cash it in, but I'll ride it a bit longer.  No real exit plan as buying stocks is a hobby for me not a real source of income.  I don't have the money or knowledge to make any real income.

So what is your exit plan?

My motto has always been "Don't pull out until you are finished"

Works pretty well in general practice so I assume it'll work okay for stock market too.

Sell immediately if Trump loses, unless you are in hedge funds. You can also swap over to hedge funds as well.
