    If your opponent is shocked by your r1 argument or makes the debate and decides you're too strong an opponent, they just need to forfeit every round and you won't affect their rating and definitely don't increase yours.

    You won't get any rating if ALL of the rounds from BOTH sides have been forfeited. If there is at least one published argument from any participant, that doesn't apply.
