Jeff bezos makes an estimate of 321 million dollars a day.
If you worked 2000$ an hour from the birth of jesus where you didn't have to pay any taxes and inflation did not exist to today you would have about 8 billion dollars and jeff bezos (plus 29 other people) would still be significantly richer than you.
Was Jeff Bezos more hard working than you?

No, but his work is more effective than other commoners.

That is why he is rich. People chose to use his things.

He uses some advanced concepts in his company that other companies refuse to adopt. For example there is a new system some employees can sign up for that chooses shifts. So say you want to work a 5 hour shift tomorrow,  you claim it and go, assuming it's available. This sort of thing that allows employees more freedom should be the norm.

I see no reason McDonald's can not just have people claim shifts they want to work on a first come first serve basis, maybe giving those with seniority a head start in choosing shifts. It allows you to retain people easier as well as hold onto more employees and cover shifts better.

Pretty retarded that boomer bosses can't get on board with some of these common sense things.

"Hard work" never makes a fortune.

Jeff Bezos is a successful entrepreneur.

He has the same amount of time available, as we all do.

seems to me the us isn't really  meritocracy. seems that its mainly based on luck and being born into rich or financially well family.
Bezos makes millions of dollars every day even during sleep. while the people working for him who are the reason he makes any money get paid 15$ an hour. maybe that's me being radical though

No. And as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter if he's a 'successful entrepreneur' or 'a more effective worker'. Nobody can ever spend that much money and nobody will ever need that much money. While Amazon's too busy trying to prevent unions from forming like they're the worst thing to ever exist, they don't give a damn about workers who are forced to piss in bottles so much so they'll just blatantly lie about it.

A million dollars is more than 90% of Gen Z people I know will ever aspire to have in this economy. That is an insane amount of money. That money could end centuries of poverty within a family and make them very wealthy if spent and invested correctly. A million is to a billion what $1 is to $1000. It's the difference from having half as much as you'd need to buy a candy bar to being able to afford a good PC, and Jeff isn't just a billionaire, he's worth $200 billion.

I really don't care if he 'earned' that money or not (he didn't, but that's a conversation for another day). There's no way he could spend it without basically setting money on fire or buying a medium sized country, so at the end of the day, I'd prefer if it went to someone who can't afford food or the people in America going bankrupt from medical debt.

There's a whole bigger evolutionary and sociological picture, that your simplistic argument  does not take into account.

Very briefly:

Inherent ability dictates social hierarchy and the the tool we have devised to define success within the hierarchical system is called money.

So the higher up the pecking order one is, the more money one will have.

The availability and value  of commodities and their derivatives, is an inevitable outcome of the system.

This is the reason why True Socialism remains a philosophical pipe dream.

I'm interested in how the $300,000 he received from his parents factors into his 'inherent ability'.

'Inherent ability' doesn't dictate social hierarchy, power dictates social hierarchy. Passing power down from one generation to the next through wealth does nothing to ensure that the most qualified or the smartest are the ones who keep that power.

People inherit genes, are born into family circumstances that develop them into an individual, what's wrong with inheriting money?

People do inherit genes, but genes aren't the defining role in what you'll be capable of. Yes, they play a part, a considerable part I would even say, but the way their brain develops based on their experiences and the life they live or want to live is much more significant.

I don't think there's anything wrong with inheriting wealth. I'm saying it's wrong to say that Jeff Bezos is inherently more capable by looking at the success of his business and ignoring the fact that he was born into a position of privilege. I guarantee there are people out there who are better businessmen than Bezos who never had the money to get their startup off the ground or were born in a country that wasn't developed enough for the kind of business Amazon is in order for it to get off the ground.

Fair point.
Though if he'd been dreadfully incompetent, even that money might not have kept him afloat.

Inherent ability.......Dictates power, which in turn dictates social hierarchy, or vice versa....The two go hand in glove.

And his inherited $300,000 didn't get  squandered on fast cars and women did it....He clearly possessed the ability to know what to do with it.

Though you're quite right, anyone can inherit inability or weakness....But in terms of business success and associated power and status, Jeff Bezos clearly didn't.

Nonetheless, in respect of the O.P......He didn't get where he is today by sitting on his arse all day watching TV.

Hard working no. He does a great knowledge for inventions and companies. I don't consider Bezos a hard worker, but a smart worker. If you are a hard worker and a smart worker, you will undoubtedly succeed if you put your mind to it

Was Jeff Bezos more hard working than you?

Yes,  he probably put in more hours figuring out his business than I did working for others.

That is a moot point in overall scheme of humanities shorter or longer term existence on Earth.

Kudo's to Beso's for hard working desire to be the largest ---I read quote by him that that is what he strived for--- he stated, not the most money, but just to be the largest  AMAZON is huge forest, and his business became huge financial gain.

Again, that is all short term non-sense game humanity is playing at this time.

"what if everything you know is wrong"....VID link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7UVfqtfQBc

Humans are basically barbarians whose ego appears to me, to be leading them to extinction with couple hundred years.  And some say I'm being to generous. So hey if we all believe were on the way out, then sure take the blue, red or green pill and party on the Blue Source likes it 1999 { Prince }. Let anarchy rule for a while and see where that leads us too.

There are many possible trajectories forward humanity may choose{?}.  It is not easy to change the momentum of large ball rolling.

Humans are basically humans for sure, evolutionary modifications of the organic are very slow.

Though human inspired evolutionary modifications of the inorganic and organic are much swifter and gathering apace.

The hierarchy of intelligence is what is important, and the barbarians are easily controlled by the intellectual elite....Take a look at the history books.

It only takes one human to inspire immense change.

And to stop the ball rolling you just need a steep enough hill.

I stated "basically barbarians".  Humans are basically human is redundancy on your part, sort of Goopy-like speak.

Though human inspired evolutionary modifications of the inorganic and organic are much swifter and gathering apace.
I have no idea what it is, that you think your going on a bout Zed.

The hierarchy of intelligence is what is important, and the barbarians are easily controlled by the intellectual elite....Take a look at the history books.
Huh? DO mean degrees of access to Meta-Space{ Metaphyscial-1/spirit-1, mind/intellect/concepts?  i'm not aware of any heirchy of intelligence, such as you suggest. ? ? ?

It only takes one human to inspire immense change.
And how does that related to Jeff Besos/Bozo?

And to stop the ball rolling you just need a steep enough hill.
Ball? What ball are you talking about Goop/Zed? The steeper hill works boths way Zed/Goop.  A 90 degree slope is vertical I and 180 degree slope is horizontal __.

Vertical is to live as horizontal is to die, but a straight drop of enough distance is death for most biologics, unless they have a working parachute, or space capsule.

Try again, Zed?

What matters isn't work, but production to others.  If work was what mattered, people would get paid for beating video games since beating video games is hard.  Yet unless someone pays you to beat a videogame, your not being productive to others and therefore if you beat a videogame in the vast majority of instances, you do not deserve to get paid for it.

We see something similar in income inequality.  Jeff Bezos got rich by being productive to society.  Do people that work harder contribute more to society?  Generally, however it is not a given.  Jeff Bezos contributes to society significantly more than any other Amazon worker by a long shot since the stock and the company he created contributes more to society than an individual worker does.

You could argue that collectively his workers contribute more to society than Jeff Bezos and if your correct, collectively his workers earn more per year than Jeff Bezos.  But on an individual level, one Amazon worker contributes significantly less to society than Jeff Bezos does, so they get paid significantly less.

If a worker wishes to contribute more to society in order to earn more money, there are millions of high paying out of highschool jobs they can get.  If they get these jobs, they will be more productive to their society and they will earn more as a result.
