A Green New Deal is not just good politics. It is good economics. Society can combat climate change by using existing clean technologies to cut emissions today or by innovating new clean technologies to cut emissions in the future. We need both strategies to address global warming.

It does not follow from that premise that the Green New Deal is good economics, since a lot of it has nothing to do with either of the things you mentioned. It wasn't originally a climate policy at all.

Not nuclear, nor fusion is going to save humanity from itself.  Humanity has to stop proliferating it species growth, and cut way back on its energy use for all kinds of crap it doesnt need goes to landfills oceans etc to kill of wildlife and humans.

More nukes are going to get built to try and save the day.  more nukes more nuclear proliferatiion. More nuclear waste sitting around next to nuclear power plants.

Regulating human population is the best chance for humanity to live long and prosper well on Earth.  Were not going to another planet to save ourselves either.

Maybe folks we will mine other planets etc.  Humans will perish long before that every happens. We have to love the planet we have and educate on ourselves on how to be smart, not how to make money.

All-for-one and one-for-all is the spiritual path that all would feel the most happiness from going forward.  The feeling that were all in this together.

I think that eventually there will be a cancer that wipes out Humanity. And I don't mean Trumpism.

The Green New Deal will feed the wealthy and their pets

..." Soylent Green is a 1973 American ecological dystopian thriller film directed by Richard Fleischer, and starring Charlton Heston, Leigh Taylor-Young, and Edward G. Robinson in his final film role. It is loosely based on the 1966 science-fiction novel Make Room! Make Room! by Harry Harrison, with a plot that combines elements of science fiction and a police procedural.

...By 2022,[3] the cumulative effects of overpopulation and pollution have caused severe worldwide shortages of food, water, and housing. New York City has a population of 40 million, and only the elite can afford spacious apartments, clean water, and natural food."...
