Description

Whether God exists or not is not the issue. It's about choosing an option with the least amount of consequences or non at all.

The argument that I posted does not specify a particular God. In general, all religions teach some kind of consequence for not believing in a god. In this respect, it is better to believe in a god than not to believe. The consequences are either good or bad, rewards or punishment's, etc.

What happens to me if I am not an atheist and die? Nothing.

What happens to an atheist at death? Nothing.

What happens if an atheist dies rejecting God? You go to hell, purgatory, some level of transition, etc.

What happens if a believer dies and rejects atheism? Nothing.

What happens if believers die and follow the God they believed in? They go to heaven, a higher existence, etc.

Therefore it is better to believe than not to believe because favorable rewards are better than punishment.

If you would like to go into specific arguments, I am a Christian.
