Description

I'm on the pro which means I think Science and Religion contradict each other, specifically in the eyes of Christianity. Obviously not all science contradicts but you know just something to start off with.

Alright Ima try to do this argument here, so good luck to my contender.

Point 1: Big Bang Theory

Genisis 1:1: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light."

Now obviously the big bang theory contradicts this but, my argument is that the Universe cannot create itself. If you saw a Rolex on the ground of the forest would you say, "Look what the forest made through erosion and the earth combining!" You would say ," Ooh a Rolex! Ima keep it!".

Additionally, the chances of the universe creating itself are unknowingly low.  "The probability of that happening comes out at about 1 in 102,685,000, or 10 followed by 2,685,000 zeros. For comparison, the Universe only has 1080 atoms."  from What Is The Likelihood That You Exist? : ScienceAlert. If you like visual cues than see what Steven Hawking Said, "Think of that range as represented by a ruler stretching across the entire observable universe, about 15 billion light years. If we increased the strength of gravity by just 1 part in 1034 of the range of force strengths (the equivalent of moving less than one inch on the universe-long ruler), the universe couldn’t have life sustaining planets."  from:List of Fine-Tuning Parameters | Discovery Institute

Now I know that the argument is that science and Religion contradict each other and that I am in fact using science to prove this. God made science and you can use it to either prove he exists or prove he doesn't. Thats really all I have right now I would love to see the opposing argument.

Real Life examples of how religion and Science contradict each other.

Point 1, Evolution: The most prominent argument is evolution. Religion does not say evolution is the reason why we are here. Practically all religions state somewhere that a supernatural being made all living things, Christianity and Judaism is Genisis 1:1.

Point 2, Natural And Supernatural: Science does not address anything as "Supernatural" It instead uses "logic and facts" to  reason them. Romans 1:20: "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that people are without excuse."
