Description

A few days ago, Cristo introduced me to a synth song that I really liked. It showed good taste. This got me thinking... does he have better taste than me? Maybe, maybe not. But hey, we'll get to show each other (and the audience) cool songs by doing this.

One song per round.

This is a DnB song. I haven't been able to find an official source on the meaning of the lyrics, but the gist of it is that it's nice to relax- to take a break from your stresses and find a new frame of mind that will help you.

I do have a bit of a theory about the precise meaning: In the song, there are various references to the sky, ground, path, and tracks. I imagine this song is being sung by a forest, calling out to a person walking through it to clear their mind. Nature is always a great place for self care, and I imagine the creators of the song have gone on a hike to comfort themselves before.

Might as well open with the one that started this whole process!

Dubstep song. I can't quite describe it. It sounds beautiful and energetic at the same time. It's just amazing.

I see your Au5 and raise you Already Yours by Curve:

...that wasn't electronic. Bruh.

Anyway,

Electro song. Has some unique sounds, but the uniqueness adds a real nice charm to the song.

The repeating lyric is,

"And I'll be lifted high,
Be like a dragonfly."

Ah, my bad then. As I admitted in the comments, electronica isn’t really my wheelhouse. I think Curve’s highly processed guitars threw me off, and they seemed to be in the same genre as the song you liked. Point is, Curve kicks a$$. Anyhoo, this next one qualifies fer shur! An obscure little gem, Judah by Mortal. Chill and soothing with a cool progression that keeps you interested throughout:

This is a certified classic. Appearing in hard levels in both Geometry Dash and Just Shapes and Beats, there's a chance you may have heard this song before. It still slaps as hard as it did all those years ago.

Here’s an oldie but a goodie— it is almost solely responsible for inspiring a particular style of dance. I present Rockit by the legendary Herbie Hancock:

I'm not sure what genre of electronic music this song is. I guess I'd describe it as a hard dance chiptune with a Eurobeat flair. Definitely inspired by music from the anime Initial D. Just listen, you'll hear what I mean. It's a really good song.

Here we are at the end. As a fitting finale, Extreme Ways by Moby:

Thanks, Mharman; this was fun!
