Description

Secular humanism emphasizes ethical principles and justice, and that morality comes from human nature and societal needs. That science and reason determine morality not a God,gods, or religious systems. Duty to man and the planet under a utilitarian framework is the best way to go! However, a society like this hasn't ever existed nor can it exist. I will list studies showing that religion permeates all societies. That man is essentially a religious animal seeking the Divine all the way from primitive huntergather Neanderthals to present day Southern Baptist Preachers. Most importantly abolishing religion and God is literally counterproductive.

A Secular Humanist society  hasn't ever existed nor can it exist. Sociologist Eric Kaufmann talks about how global society at large is becoming more religious in a modern era with democracy, human rights, and freedom. China's (secular communist state) Christian population could reach 247 million by 2030, making it the world's largest Christian nation, according to Purdue University's Fenggang Yang.
Some secularists say because poor and uneducated people are more religious in aggregate that wealth and education is a prerequisite to intelligence and ultimately secularism. This isn't the case statistically. 2/3 of Nobel Science Prize Laureates are practicing Catholics or Protestants. A 2015 study by New World Wealth found that more than two-thirds of the world's millionaires are affiliated with a religion. Of those millionaires, more than half identified as Christian.

Humans are religious animals. If you abolish religion from society people in society with the inclination of desire for the unknown and seeking ultimate purpose will in turn lead them back to starting a religion. Therefore, it is counterproductive to strive for a secular society with citizens who not only want religion but demand it in their nature to psychologically be drawn to the idea of Transcendence and God.

"A Secular Humanist society  hasn't ever existed nor can it exist. "

There are people that exist now that'll fit the classification of "secular humanist ".

So of course secular humanism is not non existent. Secular humanism is actually another religion. Like anarchism, socialism, communism, Marxism. All of these are religions, ideologies, belief systems.

People talk about separation of church and state. No such thing as that. There's politics in religion and religion in politics .

People vote in their politics, vote in their belief systems, then if successful, able to live their lives according to the belief systems. Which what religions all over the world entail. Beliefs backed up by actions.

"Humans are religious animals. "

This is true. The mere fact is that humans are religious or have beliefs because they do not know everything. If they did, beliefs would be unnecessary.

"If you abolish religion from society people in society with the inclination of desire for the unknown and seeking ultimate purpose will in turn lead them back to starting a religion."

It would be impossible to rid of all belief systems or having faith or confidence in things. See, many things we are already confident in from one reason or another. We already believe in many things, whether secular or sacred. That's why society is not eventually leading up to be religious. Society is already religious.

"Therefore, it is counterproductive to strive for a secular society with citizens who not only want religion but demand it in their nature to psychologically be drawn to the idea of Transcendence and God."

People are religious regardless of the center point being God and or the god they believe to be themselves in their lives.
