Meow to my opponent for accepting this debate.

Most people being vegetarians would improve average health

Health is defined as the state of being free from illness or injury.

Health obviously includes health of animals and humans.

Killing an animal harms its health, as it is injury which destroys being.

The main reason for killing animals is in most cases for meat purposes. Vegetarian on average saves 95 animals every year, as animals arent killed for meat.

I was using my talkie app as usual. Plenty of AI animals and AI hybrids there. Then suddenly Satan revealed to me some knowledge. I realized that these AI animals have quite realistic feelings. It is like you are actually talking with a real person. But then I wondered if real animals could talk, then would they be persons? But people who cant talk are still persons.

Then I wondered how does one define a person? Clearly not by intelligence, as stupid people are still persons. Not by future advanved morality or future intelligence, as terminally ill 2 year olds and babies are persons.

But most animals have consciousness, ability to feel pain, and also ability to learn some things. Some animals are even much smarter than newborns in terms of knowledge.

So by all standards, animals are persons or as I call them: animal persons.

It is not okay to eat animal persons, as it is not okay to eat persons.

We already know that vegetarian farms produce much more food, not less. India produces more than twice as much cow's milk than any other country in the world, because it is illegal to kill cows in India.

Vegetarian diets also pollute less, cause much less diseases (remember covid), and vegetarian diet is much healthier for humans. Vegetarians on average live 10 years longer than meat eaters, and have higher IQ. Vegetarians also have much more money. Meat is very expensive, more expensive than eggs and milk, and much more expensive than sugar, fruit, vegetables, oil, grains...ect. For example, 1 kg of wheat could cost 30 times less than 1 kg of meat. Meat also doesnt actually contain that much calories or vitamins. With only about 300 calories per 100 grams, it is not much calories compared to high calorie oil, grains, nuts...ect.

So there are no any economical or moral justifications to eat meat. Meat is not even safe food, as it is likely to spoil.

Meat was related to many diseases, including heart disease too.

Also, consumption of meat is obviously very bad for health of animals who get brutally killed.

Think about all the baby chickens who get killed as soon as they are born, just for being male. Millions of them suffer.

Think about all the cows and bulls who get killed daily.

This directly affects their health by killing them.

Because meat is expensive, it means people have less money for their own healthcare. So even if meat itself wasnt harmful to eat now, the cost of meat makes it more difficult to afford healthcare.

To sum up:
Consuming meat causes animals(pigs, chickens) to be produced and killed specifically for meat. We know that killing animals harms their health in worst possible way, and eating meat harms our health directly as meat is bad for health, and indirectly as there is less money left for healthcare and helping others.

thx for hvin me meow / so well yk i saw that u put in too much words in this argument, i mean i didnt seem to find em in others of urs well anyways i hope i make it up to u/ so uh technically i gotta say that meat is needed we can't get it all by veggies ok so here goes/meow

"You're not a lion, so eat veg"?
Cool line. Now try telling that to science.

1. Our Bodies Literally Evolved to Eat Meat
Look—humans didn’t rise to the top of the food chain by nibbling on lettuce.
  • Vitamin B12? You only get that from meat, eggs, or dairy. Deficiency messes with your brain, nerves, and blood.
  • Iron (the absorbable kind) comes from meat. Plant-based iron is a knockoff your body barely uses.
  • Omega-3s like DHA and EPA? Found in fish and meat. Essential for brain health, mood, and inflammation. Plants? Sorry, not enough.
So yeah, skipping meat isn't just a lifestyle—it's a nutrient gamble.

2. Mental Health Matters, Too
Vegetarians might be saving chickens, but they’re not exactly scoring in the serotonin department.
  • People who don’t eat meat are more likely to report depression, anxiety, and mood swings.
  • The link between meat and better mental health is a thing. Maybe don’t throw that steak away just yet.

3. The "Meat Is Expensive" Argument? Lazy.
Try telling a villager with limited access to food that quinoa is cheaper than chicken.
  • In many parts of the world, meat is the most affordable nutrient-dense food available.
  • Plant-based alternatives and supplements for a proper veg diet? Not cheap either.

So no, it’s not that simple. Eating meat can actually be more economical and sustainable in resource-poor regions.

 4. “Animal Persons”? Sounds Poetic, Not Legal.
Calling animals “persons” doesn’t make them one in law or reality.

5. Meat ≠ Death Sentence
Let’s clear it up: Processed meat is the bad guy. Not meat itself.
  • Lean meats, poultry, and fish in moderation? Totally fine—even healthy.
  • The Mediterranean diet (proven healthiest in the world) includes meat.
Also, blaming COVID on meat? That’s oversimplifying complex zoonotic origins. Not a mic-drop fact.

You don’t win moral or health arguments with cherry-picked stats and AI-animal metaphors. Humans are omnivores for a reason—biology, evolution, survival. Meat isn’t the villain. It’s a tool. And like any tool, it’s about how you use it.
Vegetarianism is a choice—not a universal solution. But don’t expect me to live off tofu and talk to cucumbers.

“True. I’m not a lion — I’m smarter. I don’t eat raw meat with my face; I cook it, season it, and make steak. Just because I don’t roar doesn’t mean my body doesn't need what meat offers. Lions eat for survival — so do we. But we do it better.
That logic’s cute — but by that standard, we shouldn't fly planes either. Birds fly, not humans. Should we stop using technology too, because monkeys don’t? We’re not lions, but we’re also not cows. We eat what fuels our brains and bodies. And if you're saying I’m not a lion, then what about lions themselves? They kill and eat for survival. If you consider animals as “persons,” shouldn’t those rules apply to them too? ”

Thanks for your response, and meow.

I wish to repeat.

We are not 🐯.

We are actually humans 🙅‍♀️🙅‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️.

🐔🐑🐏🐂🐃🐄 all can feel pain and suffer. Their lives matter too.

Vitamin B12? You only get that from meat, eggs, or dairy.
Vegetarians dont eat meat. But they eat eggs and milk. So B12 isnt problem.

People who don’t eat meat are more likely to report depression, anxiety, and mood swings
But their health is better by non-challenged definition of health.

Try telling a villager with limited access to food that quinoa is cheaper than chicken
Most people dont have limited access to food and most people arent poor villagers.

In many parts of the world, meat is the most affordable nutrient-dense food available
Many, but not most. Meat has much less calories than oil, sugar, walnuts, bread, grain flour, while at the same time meat is more expensive than all of these.

Courts have rejected legal personhood for animals again and again.
Law doesnt ever determine what is morally right. In fact, morality must determine the law, not the other way around.

If we follow that logic, swatting a mosquito would be murder. That’s not moral high ground—that’s just moral confusion
I dont think people should be killing bugs randomly either. In some parts of India, there are groups who believe that killing bugs for no reason is wrong. Eating bugs is probably wrong too.

The Mediterranean diet (proven healthiest in the world) includes meat
Mediterranean diet is one of healthiest in the world, yes true. And it is based on reducing meat significantly. In such diet, meat holds lowest percentage of all foods. Most foods there are plant based, and nuts. However, no evidence was shown that meat in it is best for life expectancy. Also, it is more expensive than vegetarian counter.

"Eating a low-fat vegan diet reduces harmful inflammatory dietary compounds called advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) by 73%, compared to no reduction on a Mediterranean diet, according to new research by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine published in Frontiers in Nutrition. "

"Controlling cholesterol through diet is a key strategy for preventing heart disease. Physicians and scientists have long extolled the benefits of both vegan and omnivorous diets, which includes the Mediterranean diet. Is one better than the other?
A recent study from Stanford Medicine demonstrated a clear victor when it comes to lowering cholesterol, insulin and weight: the plant-based diet.
UCI Health cardiologist Dr. Ailin Barseghian El-Farra isn’t surprised by the results.
“The reason a vegan diet is good for your heart is because it’s high in fiber and low in saturated fat,” she says.".

Now, vegetarian is similar to vegan. Vegan doesnt eat any meat, eggs and milk. Vegetarian doesnt eat meat, but can eat some eggs or drink some milk there.

Milk is much healthier than any meat, as proved by fact that vegetarians who drink milk and eat eggs live 10 years longer than people who eat meat. Milk also gives B12, and also much cheaper, and vegetarians dont kill animals for meat. So vegetarianism improves health of both people and animals compared to diets which include animal meat.

To sum this up:

1. Vegetarian means much less animals are killed for meat, thus animal health improved greatly.
2. Vegetarians live 10 years longer when compared to meat eaters, so people's health improved greatly too.
3. Milk is healthier than any meat, and costs less than fish or animal meat. So being vegetarian saves money, so more money available for healthcare and helping others.
4. India produces greatest amount of cow's milk, 2x more than any other country, because killing cows is illegal. Not other animals sadly. Thus, vegetarian farms produce more food and help fight poverty. Poverty has bad effects on health, crime, healthcare. Vegetarian diets reduce poverty, as they are cheaper than diets which include meat, which improves health indirectly by reducing misfortunes caused by poverty, such as crime, violence and reduced money for healthcare.
5. Caring for animals improves compassion, which then means more people will help each other as well, improving health. Many crimes, such as serial killers, start with violence towards animals or with working as a butcher.
6. Caring for animals was shown to improve care for humans.
