What is a fetus? 

A fetus is an unborn offspring. In this debate, we are talking about a human fetus. A human fetus is a human being. There are some who like to warp the term human being, and they make the claim that a human being must be sentient. What is sentience nowadays? Is Pro sentient?

Do we get to decide who is and who isn't sentient? Why should we? I suppose a deceased person is no longer sentient. Their heart is no longer beating, their brain cells have expired, and they are to be put in the ground. Their life is no more. What of a fetus? A fetus is beginning its journey; it is alive. We are no more alive than the fetus. We are perhaps less alive than the fetus, as we are closer to our natural demise. What we think we can perceive or feel is of no importance; our cells and our hearts comprise the machine keeping us going. The fetus is no different. Its instincts are to live. This is not about what goes on in the mind.

We take exception to the possibility of being murdered, with the reason being that we are alive and have the right to life. We think, why should I die? It seems humans believe they are justified in their quest to live. In living, they too grow. It is not only the fetus who grows. You grow from the time you are conceived until the time you become old, wither away, and die. But even the elderly can learn.

A fetus is a human being, and human beings do not want to have their lives ended through unnatural means. Death is not natural to the fetus. They are put here to grow and live.
