Women hero’s should stay women and men hero’s should stay men. Not switch

There’s something powerful about consistency in storytelling. When we think of iconic superheroes like Wonder Woman or Batman, we’re not just thinking about the costumes or powers — we’re thinking about the identity, personality, and legacy those characters represent. That identity is deeply tied to who they are, including their gender.

Superheroes are more than just action figures on a page; they reflect cultural values and human experiences. Wonder Woman, for example, was created to embody the strength and grace of womanhood in a world of male-dominated heroes. Her character isn’t just a woman — she’s a woman hero, and that distinction matters. Changing her into a man, even in a reimagining, would strip away the very point of her creation.

Similarly, male superheroes like Superman or Iron Man weren’t just randomly assigned male traits. Their stories were built around certain archetypes — the protector, the innovator, the loner — shaped by a male perspective. Recasting them as female doesn’t automatically create more representation; it often feels like a shortcut rather than crafting new, strong female heroes with their own identities.

Rather than switching the gender of existing characters, the better solution is to create new, compelling heroes who reflect diverse identities from the start. When characters are created with authenticity, their stories carry more weight and inspire more meaningfully.

Keeping superheroes the gender they were originally designed as isn’t about being rigid or exclusionary — it’s about respecting storytelling, honoring character integrity, and encouraging creators to build new legends rather than rewriting old ones.

I’m not saying women shouldn’t be superhero’s, I’m saying that men should have the right to be one.
