Let's not distort the english language.
The definition of "true" is: In accordance with fact or reality
1) A statement is true only if it corresponds to an objective fact or external reality.
2) “This statement is true” refers only to itself and contains no reference to external facts.
Unlike meaningful statements like “Water boils at 100°C,” which can be tested and verified,
“This statement is true” refers only to itself. It doesn’t describe a fact, only its own form, thus being impossible to be proven true.
Therefore, “This statement is true” is not true in the literal definition of truth, because it lacks correspondence to any external truth-condition or fact.
For analogy, would it be a true statement to say- "spiderman exists and this is true"-?
Of course not. Only because i imply that a statement is true does not grant it an objective truth value.
