Capitalism means that individuals have more rights as they have more than one choice. In Communism, there  is only 1 choice: the state. This means that in Communism, people have no choice. They belong to state or society without any alternative offered for them. In Communism, what if individual doesnt want to work for the state? His only other choice is to be unemployed and starve or live on welfare, both terrible options. Capitalism drives progress. Competition and diversity create better ideas and better technology. There is no good way to make Communism work because nothing guarantees state will be responsible or that majority voting will result in better decision. Capitalists must be good for others because thats the only way they can sell their services: by being useful to someone. And they compete to be as useful as possible. State competes with no one and must only do bare minimum to stay in power while society decays. Sometimes state even harms society to stay in power by banning opposition, reducing freedom, increasing control, banning different opinions. Capitalism at least does what it claims it does: increases life standards.
