Society punishes women more for living freely than it does to celebrate them.

We have all seen many examples and know very well that Women are punished or shamed for simply living their lives the way they want. For eg,  A woman in her 40s, single, independent, and confident, is often shamed because she did not marry 'on time', or she's not a good candidate for being a "cultured" bride. Are we really shaming people for being independent and confident?
Even some jobs are stereotyped to be "women-friendly" and "not safe for women". If a woman is a CEO of a certain company, even her clients and employees look down on her, don't wanna work under or with her, just because she is a woman, and people don't like taking orders from women because these modern-looking-but-having-ancient-thoughts type of men think that they should be the ones giving the orders while the women work under them. Some hate to see women being successful. Even though all the women leaders are stereotyped to be aggressive or bossy, while male leaders are equally or more aggressive and bossy than them.
If a man cheated on a woman or assaulted her, and the woman tries to raise her voice against this, it's often the woman who gets shamed for not being 'good enough' or "claiming falsely" rather than the man for his wrongdoing.
These are just a few of the examples of something we come across daily in newspapers or on social media.
But there are also many examples where women try to pull other women down. In India(where I am born and brought up), we have these mohalle ki aunties (The gossip aunties). One of the most common comments that I have heard from them towards the other women is- Cover yourself properly, Come back home right before it gets dark, Why are you laughing so loudly? People will talk badly about you.  Is it proper for a girl to travel alone for work? (And I am pretty sure this is kinda universal to a certain extent.) Hearing these comments from another woman breaks our hearts. If even women won't support another woman's freedom and independence, then who will? My argument is not about men vs women, it's about the ancient mindset of society vs women, and that is what I presume is the meaning of feminism.
