Of course, some may say technology has its downsides, like distractions or over-dependence, but don’t the benefits clearly outweigh the risks? In this debate, I will show that technology empowers people, opens up new opportunities, and pushes society forward. So, are the few problems enough to ignore the incredible advantages? Let’s discuss and find out why technology truly is a boon!

The topic I am speaking on is “Technology is a Boon.”
To start with, let me make one thing clear: technology is not just a machine or a device — it is the reason our world moves forward. From learning to communication, from healthcare to space missions, technology has become the backbone of every major achievement we celebrate today.
But let me open with a question:
If technology was truly a curse, would the world rely on it for survival, progress, and innovation?
Exactly — it wouldn’t.
ROUND 1 — ARGUMENTS (PRO SIDE)
The opposing side often begins by saying, “Technology distracts us.”
My first counterpoint: Does the device create distraction, or does our own lack of discipline create it?
A hammer can build a house or break it — but we don’t call the hammer dangerous.
So why blame technology for human habits?
Now let’s talk about what technology actually does.
  • It enables students to learn from the best teachers across the world.
  • It saves lives through advanced medical machines.
  • It connects families instantly, no matter the distance.
  • It helps scientists predict disasters and protect millions.
  • It boosts India’s progress — whether it’s digital payments or Chandrayaan.

Technology is a boon because it solves problems, increases efficiency, and opens opportunities that were once impossible.
This is just the beginning — and the more we explore, the clearer it becomes that the benefits of technology far outweigh its drawbacks.
