Round 1

I will act as pro.
Charity doesn't make any significant change. People donate to charities regularly hoping for long-lasting change in our world. I dispute the fact that charity makes no difference in our world because it does. The issue at hand is that charity solves immediate problems and disregards long term problems.
For example; CAFOD, the well-renowned Catholic charity association. They are well known across the globe for their charitable endevours e.g. helping out people in Africa suffering from poor living conditions, yet my main point of argument is that, why "save" a person today when they would be in the same situation the next day. If you decide to argue that it's for them to live to fight another day, its completely futile. As evidence (and common sense) shows that when the next day comes its another fight with another variant of a disease that they never win, even with the help of charity.
We should ask ourselves, what does charity do to help matters in the long run? In addition,  Africa isn't even the only country suffering from statistics like these showing how pointless charity really is. Charity is a waste of time and energy. So I will end my argument with a question for con.
Whats the point of charity if it doesn't help in the long-term?
