Round 1
The Third Position rejects the traditional Liberal Capitalism and Marxist Communism for a third way being socalism or/and Corporatism. Since the end of World War 2 both Communism and Capitalism had shown people that they simply can't work with Capitalism exploiting the working class for a few greedy evil CEOs to have the majority ot wealth. The Economic Policy Institute in the USA has shown that their analysis in September 2025 has shown that from 1978 to 2024 CEO pay has skyrocketed by 1094% while worker pay has only increased by 26% showing that CEO of companies don't actually help there workers but exploit them for personal wealth and power. Also the riches 12 CEOs in the planet have more money then 4.1 billion people. 12 people have more money then half the planet, thats is hugely concerning. Oxfam International has shown that wealth collected by billionaires in the last year was more to eradicate world poverty 26 times in there 2026 economic findings. To the other hand Communism has proven to be as bad as Capitalism. Between 1958 to 1962 the Great Chinese Famine has happened under Mao Zedongs Great leap to industrialise China from a rural country to a industrial powerhouse. Estimates show that 36 to 45 million people has died from a state made famine as local officials lied about grain production making the government sieze food from already starving peasants for industrial machines causing the biggest state led famine in human history under Yang Jisheng in his book the Tombstone: The Great Chinese Famine.
Capitalism is the superior economic system compared to Socialism.
Socialism is good pen on paper but in practice it is impossible to avoid corruption that is apparent in capitalism, because humans are humans, but in capitalism it is not impossible to circumvent it.
This could’ve different based on personal preferences but I believe government intervention is dangerous. Because if governments establish laws that allow them to intervene with business and property, they can manipulate the rules and laws in their favor and nobody is there to stop them because they are too powerful. This is why may revolutions and new countries have failed such as French revolution and a vast majority of African countries.
And yes I do not deny that Capitalism has greedy ceos. But the beautiful about Laissez faire capitalism is that if you have grit and determination you can get out of any spot with 100$ in your pocket from working at a McDonald for a week.
Round 2
Greetings,
You might say that Laissez-Faire Capitalism is the best choice for us economically but how does a market regulate itself with some sort of "invisible hand"? There are also no pure Laissez Faire Captalist countries showing us it simply won't work. From a Third Positionist point of view Laissez Faire Capitalism is objectively the worst type of Capitalism there is as it encourages borderless trade and free movement of capital making a countries sovereignty and independence of its own industry and making it a just a "economic zone" for the "free market". Laissez Faire Capitalism is also known for its individualism and the idea that a individual should work for his own self interests. This is a fundamental flaw as it treats people as consumers and people you can gain money and destroying the idea of collectivism in a society between ethnicity or a nation which is needed for the progession of that nation as a whole if the people are divided you can't expect national goals to be reached. This causes huge wealth inequality making majority of wealth fall in the hands of a few people making in result a oligarchy. Laissez Faire Capitalism doesn't work with Conservatism as it doesn't convers anything, it destroys the nuclear family, destroys tradition, destroys a nation from within so i don't understand why anyone would support those two things as they clearly contradict each other. There are many sources that show that the invisible hand in Laissez Faire Capitalism doesn't work and doesn't regulate the market at all in the work of John Maynard Keynes "The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money". Karl Polanyi in his sociological/economic critique "The Great Transformation" show that "self regulating markets" are socially impossible as they treat humans and nature as mere commodities for there own self interests showing you that Laissez-Faire Capitalism doesn't care about the nation, traditions, culture, ethnicity, wealth inequality, nature, and people it only cares about the largest amount of profits it can makes and self interests of the people using it and exploitation of the worker as i talked about previously.

Addressing your “there is no pure laissez faire country”. You are absolutely correct, but that is irrelevant because literally every single country on the face of earth is not a pure economic system, it is always a blend in some way. So yes you can say that about LZ but I can also say it about socialist countries, deeming it useless bicker.
Bringing up ethnicity race or gender in economics is horrible. I am the strongest critic of DEI you’ll see. Because if people don’t work in their self interests or what they are good at, the jobs go down in quality, money is loss from companies meaning they have to pay workers less and the money vanishes.
Their should not be national goals in a country that makes it where they can manipulate the market in a way that allows the government to gain money.
Anyone can rise to power with americas economic ways, don’t say you don’t believe me because I can and will just prove that.
We should not keep tradition, we should advance on what we need to to enhance the country.
You say many sources say that the invisible hand doesn’t work, but there are also sources that say it does work. So what? Saying either doesn’t prove anything for the either of us
You are correct it doesn’t care for ethnicity or culture, because we care about people so much who are different ethnicities, we do not judge them on color and give them jobs like their babies. We treat them equal as us and let them get it for themselves.
Round 3
Greetings,
I want to address the point where you talked about anyone can rise up with America's economic ways. I totally disagree with this because as I've talked about twice already is the wealth concentrations between different classes is so enormous. The top 1 percent in America hold around 30.5% to 31.7% of all household wealth in America which is about 50 trillion by the end of 2024 which has probably risen. The top 0.1 percent basically the top 1 percent of the 1 percent has seen there wealth increases drastically from 1989 to 2025 it has risen by 60%, holding about 13.9% of wealth of all US wealth. However the bottom 50% only hold about 2.5% of US wealth seeing a decrease of of 25% in 1989. So clearly there is some sort of oligarchy in the USA and you saying that anyone can rise up with American economic ways is clearly false with the statistics because if the bottom 50% could rise up with America's economic policies why haven't they? What's stopping them? These statements are backed up by reliable sources like the Federal Reserve (FRED), Institute for Policy Studies,Pew research center, and World inequality database. I haven't talked about homeless rates and why people simply break out of homelessness as i unfortunately don't have the time but hopefully i can next time.
Well then we are just going to have to disagree on this debate. Homelessness can be fixed if 90% of homeless people were recognized as homeless because of addiction or mental illness. Anybody can become a millionaire if they tried, we can see that for maybe 75% of current Fortune 500 companies.
Round 4
Why aren't you a millionaire yet? Or my parents? Am not gonna re explain my points again because that's time consuming but the top people have all the wealth and make it near impossible for you to become a millionaire. When have you heard of a person become a millionaire with winning some price or from inheritance? You can't. Captalism has many flaws in it but in the third position Corporatism and socalism stop these flaws in Captalism happen in the third position and promotes equality and hard work for the nation only not a global market.
CEO of Starbucks Howard Schultz grew up in an apartment in brooklyn
Each of the founders of Xerox and Oracle grew up in poor single mother homes
Harold hamm the ceo of continental resources started out picking cotton barefoot
Jensen Huang the ceo of Nvidia started out working at a resturant bussing tables as an immigrant kid
The list really goes on
Round 5
Look, it’s easy to get swept up in those "bootstraps" stories because they’re incredible stories of human grit, but when we use them to defend an unregulated, "survival of the fittest" economy, we’re essentially ignoring the graveyard of the millions who worked just as hard but got buried by the system. From a Third Positionist perspective, an economy shouldn't be a casino where a few lucky "bussers" become billionaires while the rest of the nation’s families struggle to keep their heads above water; it should be a stable foundation that protects its people from being treated like disposable cogs in a global machine. The data back this up: the World Economic Forum’s Social Mobility Index shows that in the U.S., which prides itself on these stories, you actually have a much harder time climbing the ladder than in countries that rein in the market to protect the common good. We’re seeing the "middle" of our country disappear, with Pew Research noting that the middle-class share of the wealth has plummeted from 62% to 42% in just a few decades, while the Federal Reserve confirms that the top 1% now owns more than the bottom 90% of Americans combined. This isn't just about "inequality"—it’s about the fact that when you let capital move wherever it wants without loyalty to a specific place or people, you get hollowed-out towns and a "productivity-pay gap" where, as the Economic Policy Institute shows, workers are producing more than ever but their paychecks have barely budged for 40 years. We shouldn't judge an economy by the five guys at the top who made it out; we should judge it by whether a normal, hardworking person can raise a family and live with dignity without being one medical bill away from ruin. A real "Third Way" recognizes that the market is a tool that needs a master, and that master should be the well-being of the nation and its people, not just the growth of a stock ticker.
Yep that’s how capitalism works, if you work hard and know all of marketing, entrepreneurship, etc. then you’ll be successful.
