Description

I’m looking to debate a major topic in Christian doctrine: the formula used during baptism. While many follow the traditional Trinitarian formula, the Book of Acts shows the Apostles consistently baptizing specifically in the name of Jesus Christ.

So my case is this, when Jesus told everybody to baptize and do things in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, and the Apostles instead used the name of Jesus Christ, it shows that those are all titles which belong to a singular name, Jesus Christ. This also disproves the concept of the Holy Trinity.

"Under what name do you baptize in? The name of Jesus Christ, Or in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost?"

Greetings.

To the first question, the apostles continued to fulfil what Jesus said in Matthew 28 and John 16 and Acts 2.

Trinitarians typically deny significance of this because one God alone believers hold to the revelation of one God the Father the spirit that people are baptized of , born of and those born again means being added to the one body. That Spirit.....the Lord Jesus.

They continue with the.....the Father, the son, the holy ghost. But baptism for it to mean salvation, the belief of it should be the power of Jesus Christ explicitly and specifically, not just Father son and holy ghost.

If you been taught and believe there is no difference or significance, you won't be saved, you won't be born again and it means you haven't received the spirit of Christ which means you're none of his.

He that believes and is baptized, shall be saved. Do this in the name of the Lord Jesus. No matter what you do or say . The word teaches this.

Jesus basically said he had to go away in order to line up Acts chapter two.

This boils down to having life. Eternal to be specific. Jesus said this is life eternal. The Father is eternal. The Father is everlasting life. The Father was in flesh, manifested in flesh, in Christ reconciling the world back to himself. Basically Acts chapter two. Basically John 3:16

Those who are saved by him are the ones who call on him to be saved. Stephen called on God.

Scripture say whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

So the name in baptism is very important. If people just say "oh I was baptized in the name of the Father son Holy Ghost so I'm saved", and I say why and they say "because I was baptized", I can't believe they were baptized into his death. See, it's through his death. Not through the spirit, the spirit didn't die. If I ask people, were you baptized unto his death, they may say "huh?"

If I ask people were they baptized in the name of the Lord and they respond "sure Father son Holy ghost". I pushback with "but do you believe your baptism was in the name of the Lord Jesus?" They may look puzzled . They may act like, what's the difference and say "what's the significance, I was baptized, wasn't I?"

Sure you were baptized. You were buried or immersed and rose. But was unto the author of your salvation because he was the one that is the end of the law and has all power and authority. Do you believe your baptism was regarded unto him, regarded unto the Lord? Do you believe you got baptized because of your belief in the son of God and what it means for you to be baptized?

Many don't know and just get baptized as a general practice as started in Matthew 28. Like it's just routine that goes with your religion like putting on church clothes.

But in verse 19, it says teach all nations.

So what are the apostles teaching?

It is what Philip, Peter and Paul are teaching.

Saul had to arise and be baptized calling on the name of the Lord. He knew what it was. He received the revelation from the LORD HIMSELF.

He never taught anywhere not teaching to be baptized in the name of the Lord. He surely didn't embrace being baptized in the name of Paul.

There are many that don't even believe according to scripture that baptism is necessary for salvation. They just believe in a faith only salvation. They butcher and contradict Mark 16:16.

The evidence of using carnal thinking causes it. Thinking about physical water. There is the physical water and the spirit water or spiritual water .

The physical water does certain things and people get to thinking how this can't do anything spiritually when it's physical.

It's something you do or work. Scripture teaches not to be only a hearer but doer. Faith without works is dead. The Ethiopian eunuch did the work going down in water.

You have men today trying to forbid water calling any baptism in water John's baptism.

Did Jesus get baptized in John's baptism?

A good question to think on.

People believe baptism doesn't save at all. People believe in themselves in them that have to work for their salvation and they credit themselves by it .

All is supposed to be done to the glory of God. Not any single person but to the glory of God according to the book.
