Round 1
Biologically, currency is not needed to live. While currency is required to access certain amenities in some cases, society has been built in such a way whereas it is possible for people to live on with little to no money. Government assistance, nonprofit charity networks, and community mutual aid are all examples of goodwill towards other people. 52%~ of the global population receives at least one form of government aid, helping people make ends meet, whether that be healthcare, food, or housing. We live in a world where our government won't typically just let us keel over and die, and they'd much rather lend a hand. However, aid isn't the only way to live without currency. Becoming self-sufficient, (crops, solar power, etc.) has become surprisingly straightforward recently.
Sources
So what do you want now, a world where people live without money? Or a world where money does not exist or there is no business, just people live, eat and breathe. This is possible, because 1000 years ago people had less money because its value was low, people used to sell wheat, rice, cotton, cloth, wood, or iron parts to each other and buy their necessities in return. Even then, people were alive. You can do this too. Wealth is not necessary to survive. If you do not have hands, how will you eat? If you do not have legs to walk, how will you work? Hospitals are full because people eat food to survive, not money. And anyone can give you food for free, on the contrary, you may have to give your skills to them, like helping someone with a difficult task.
Round 2
Maybe you should read my first argument before typing out yours. We are both arguing the same thing. You now have to play devils advocate.
Well, you can't live without money. Do you agree that there is a place in the world where everything is free, or that no one owns that country or place, you can just do whatever you want or not and no one can stop you. But there are many people living there, and there is no currency or money. So, tell me, how would people live there?
Round 3
You are correct, people do in fact live with no currency. However, this particular instance is usually not very long lasting and quite uncommon. The population is normally relatively small compared to places that do use currency. Bottom line, while places that abstain from using currency do exist, they are quite small population-wise, rather uncommon, and brief if population mushrooms. It's quite difficult to maintain, as humans tend to naturally gravitate towards systems with some sort of token to purchase with.
So if you believe this and agree with this, then our debate ends here. Because your subject was only that "money is necessary for survival". May my Lord be your supporter and helper.
