When we look at the horizon, our eyes might trick us into thinking the world is flat. But we cannot settle this debate on looks alone; we must rely on proven facts. The facts tell us that our planet is an oblate spheroid.

As the supporter of this proposition, I will build my case today on three strong points that my opponent must address directly.

First, the Evidence of the Horizon: If the Earth were flat, a ship sailing away would shrink until it became a tiny dot. But that isn't what happens. Anyone who has stood on a coast knows that a ship disappears from the bottom up. The hull vanishes first, followed by the sails, and finally the top of the mast. It is actually sinking below the physical curve of the Earth.

Second, Celestial Geometry: During a lunar eclipse, the Earth moves directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon's surface. For thousands of years, people have noticed that this shadow is always a perfect curve. The only shape in the universe that casts a perfectly round shadow from every angle is a sphere. Furthermore, if you travel south tonight, you will see constellations that you cannot see from the north. This is impossible on a flat disc.

Third, the Reality of Global Technology: Every time we use GPS for navigation, check global weather, or send a message internationally, we depend on thousands of satellites orbiting a spherical Earth. The math, physics, and gravity needed to maintain these satellites in orbit completely fall apart under any model other than a round Earth.

To claim that the Earth is flat means more than just doubting space agency photos; it means rejecting the basic laws of physics, gravity, and geometry that have advanced human civilization for over two thousand years.
