I dont think that bestiality is wrong.

If someone has sex with an animal, he shouldnt be punished.

It seems wrong to punish someone just because he had sex with an animal.

This society often kills and tortures animals, so can this society really judge a person for having sex with an animal if both person and animal enjoy it?

Yes, there is video proof. It shouldn't surprise anyone that understands evolution results in blunt instruments so much of the time.

Maybe the second time they cared enough to record. I have five examples on my hard drive.

Inter-species interactions other than fighting and threatening to fight are generally rare. Humans are almost always the ones who create a situation where different species are in the same herd/pack dynamic and when that happens the natural outcome is sexual advance.

It's interesting you note monkeys, because our fellow primates (monkeys) are one of the few other animals that have been observed forming strong alliances with other species, i.e. monkeys + dogs; and I guarantee you they show interest in each other.

Interesting only in so far as the obvious is made controversial by virtue of it being a convenient excuse for unregulated disgust.

Nobody asks whether a dog can consent to paragliding, they presume themselves and the dog's human companion competent to assess body language and determine "Yes" or "No".

That is not a difference in capacity to consent it is a difference of doubt of the state of mind.

If a active male can consent, so can a passive female. There is no reason to suspect that cognition is highly sexually dimorphic. It simply means more caution in ascertaining consent is warranted.

At the point of decision making, I'm not sure that any political system actually regards the majority.

Collective decisions that reach the statute books are made by a select handful of people.

Based upon the knowledge that most people are too busy and/or disinterested.

As for the average Joe's day to day existence, he will disregard the law if he feels so compelled. Within this context right and wrong are temporary notions not affected by a greater external authority.

That's how it always has been.

Though whether the individual will be always able to retain freedom of thought, is a moot point. I think that thought policing is a serious technological possibility.

I don't. Our moral culture could do with a lot more worrying about consent.

It could also do with a lot less "Morality is arbitrary, really."

People may prove their professed morality arbitrary by not giving a shit about contradictions in it, but that's a flaw with their theory not the concept itself. I see it no differently than failing a math test and saying "math answers are arbitrary, really". Yea, when you get it wrong and don't care.
