Well, Israel should be pressured to stop killing so much civilians, but we already know that every US president (both Trump and Biden) support Jews and the question about Israel isnt even a subject of disagreement.

This is a Biden problem though.

The people on both sides of this issues on college campuses were never going to vote for Trump under any circumstance, but Biden is assuring many on both sides and also ensuring many will sit it out because Biden refuses to take a side and make a stand.

Yes, when you have even the WAPO crowd questioning the tactic of trying to embrace both sides and offending neither...it makes you an objectively weak leader.

Biden is his own worst enemy here. Roundly mocked by the WAPO crowd as a "stupid with no substance to offer."

Even without the new and revised rules, Biden is toast here. Neither side of the conflicted Democrat is happy about his non-committal stance.

Extrapolating the worst doesn't make it all that much worse for Biden. If we took the most permissive interpretation of the new rules, you could make the case that he condemned both sides, (since he used the word "condemned" and context magic would be arduous to wield here)... effectively Biden called all those Democrats the equivalent of "deplorable"

The main problem is that Sharia Law is extremely Right Wing but Ntanyahu's wing of Israel is also extremely right wing knucklehead conservative.

So, for the left wing, both societies are quite disgusting to actually side with. Nobody on the left is admitting it because they wrongly hold the idea that all cultures are equally good and valuable to the world.

What is clear is they loathe both sides, I do as well at this point  and I notice the repressed 'cannot admit it' opinion my fellow leftwing thinkers hold. They just want neither side to get what it wants and did the whole time. They want(ed) Hamas to lose but to remain as a functioning terrorist organisation that may eventually free Palestine. They also want(ed) Israel to remain in peace but to not genocide 10s of millions of Gazans and make months of sheer terror and hell, making them worse terrorists.

Thus, there is a clear aim of the Left; achieve a surefire long term peaceful defeat for both sides ASAP. This has and always will be how to understand the Left's contradictory approach. Even I am supporting the approach now.

In 50 years, right wing wont even exist in the form it exists today.

Just compare USA today to USA 50 years ago.

It's not a problem for non-Democrats.

There's nothing inherently bad about being polarized and only seeing good things on only one side or the other. It's just bad for Biden in this particular situation.

So nuance and context do matter? Good to know.
