That doesn't counter anything unless you thought my position was that I agreed with them on everything.
Oh, I thought you were claiming that Harris has virtually no connection to stances you find stupid.

Yes, that was exactly my point, but it went further than that. Not only did they hold her responsible, but they pretended these issues were central to her campaign and therefore representative of what her priorities would have been as president. That's where it gets ridiculous.
As ridiculous as you may find it, this is neither unusual nor unique to Harris’ candidacy. Voters regularly feel strongly about issues that aren’t central to a candidate’s campaign and vote accordingly.

Well Joe Biden lies about pardoning his son (among many other things), so if I assume he's going to eat my dog....
Biden was just exercising his presidential pardon powers before leaving office. Why would he leave out his son?
Well he said he would leave his son out:

Initially Biden thought he could get 4 more years as President to decide his son’s pardon. But after he resigned as candidate his days were numbered as President. It was now or never to save his son.

True, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a mismatch in terms of the level of unimportance of an issue on one side vs the caricature of importance the other side prescribed to it.

in terms of the level of unimportance of an issue...
You don't get to decide that level. That's exactly why we have democracy, so that a far left dictator can't unilaterally declare illegal immigration, regulating corporate gender surgeries for minors, protecting women from chicks with dicks, starting a hot war with Russia, a continuing Gaza war, or inflation to be "unimportant"

I thought it was interesting that Kamala ran on the abortion issue, but conveniently failed to promote a plan to introduce a specific federal law that would allow abortion up to 20 weeks like Roe.

I can only imagine the criticism she would have with that plan that many Democrats would not vote for. The reason why the SCOTUS had to do it was because many on the left would say Roe was either too much, or not enough. They would never go for the "splitting the baby in half" King Solomon solution (pun intended)

I’m sure many voted for Harris because she at least claimed that abortion rights were central to her platform. Meanwhile, abortion has not been central to Trump’s platform, but he has stated clearly that he is against a federal abortion ban. But if one is a single issue voter on that, the choice would be pretty clear. Voters do not always vote according to the candidate’s main platform, nor should they. Voters vote according to what is most important to THEM, not according to what someone else thinks is most important.

He's literally the reason abortion is illegal in many US states, and has bragged about it many times

he has stated clearly that he is against a federal abortion ban
He also refused to say he wouldn't sign one when asked point blank with the whole country watching

Voters vote according to what is most important to THEM
No one is suggesting otherwise. Criticizing them for it is still perfectly valid.

You can criticize whomever you wish. I’m just saying you don’t get to decide what is important to people other than yourself.

There is a grand total of 13 states with a full abortion ban with exceptions. Last time I checked, you needed 26 states to pass a law.

It's never going to happen with only 13 states voting for it, and Trump said so. That's a fact.

He didn't entertain the premise that a ban could get passed in Congress, so he refused to answer the "are you still beating your wife" type of gotcha question.

Libs are furious he would not validate their far-left crazy premise.

As I saw it reported, he said he wouldn’t sign a ban, but he evaded answering whether he would veto such a ban. Either way, the effect is the same— no ban.

It happened in front of the whole country at the debate.

You can criticize whomever you wish. I’m just saying you don’t get to decide what is important to people other than yourself.
Then you are wasting your breath because I never suggested I do.

So why get pissed off that he refused to acknowledge a loaded question?

I thought it was a ballsy move.

What on earth are you talking about? Are you even reading these exchanges before jumping in?

We were talking about the double standards (my claim) applied towards Harris in this election and he used as a counter example that voters held Trump to something he didn't campaign on (opposing the right to abortion). So I responded to his point

*Responded*

...by pointing out that he bragged about getting rid of those protections and when pressed refused to say he wouldn't sign a national ban.

Nothing about that conversation meets your description.

It happened in front of the whole country at the debate.
So, no citation to support your exact claim. “Got it.”

the level of unimportance of an issue on one side vs the caricature of importance the other side prescribed to it.
You have a knack for making your personal opinion appear as a matter of objective truth. Time is better spent figuring out what IS important to voters rather than merely finding fault with what they think is important. If the DNC is unable or unwilling to improve upon your analysis, brace yourself for another GOP win in 2028.

It worked for Trump and JD Vance. Both have foreign sex mates.
