It’s my weekend so won’t be the most active but I am doing research on the theme and watching videos on the campaign. Got a character notes document I’m working on
I don’t really know enough about this game to be able to figure out what would make a good basis for a mass softclaim without revealing too much. Nationality might be too specific, so maybe whether your character is alive, dead, or uncertain (alive or dead by player action or just unclear) by the end of the game?
I’m fine with starting: my character dies.
My character died I assume, otherwise some of. The stuff in my PM makes no sense

I don’t know how to answer that question without basically giving away my character because it’s not a simple yes or no. In fact this method of soft claiming feels extremely revealing in general. I was going to do research myself to find a better soft claim method but haven’t had the time yet, so while I’m critiquing this one I don’t have a better alternative atm

I mean, that's why I included the "uncertain" category. You don't have to specify where you fall under that. At least from the number of characters in the game who fall into these three camps from what I've read, I can't see this as giving away too much information. Maybe I've misread something.
Nah I’m actually cool with not getting anymore soft claims, mafia getting 4 questions, we really don’t want to narrow things down. We can get a claim from someone we seriously suspect, but with this theme I feel like all characters are very easily reaearchable and I don’t wanna tomato’s off unnecessary more than we already have. Hope that makes sense.

I actually agree with this, in a game like this with a finite amount of plausible characters, it's easy to end up giving away too much info to the mafia this way. I know that pushing for early softclaims used to be my thing, but I also used to be less experienced at the time.

I feel the same. No need for soft claims really, we'll just pursue a few hard claims.
I looked on the Wiki page for Blops, and there aren't that many characters. I think softclaiming is fine, but tbh, I want to play a game where we don't just soft as SOP.

I usually observe a bit early in the DP just to get a pulse on things. I’ve found it helps my analysis.
I guess if you want something that badly I’ll say I dont give a shit about Bullish, nothing there sways me either way. There is someone else worth giving a slight townread though.

My initial thought is “against.” I get the sense some people are too quick to abandon the idea altogether, instead of just looking for a better way to do it.
Someone in particular really reeks of blend-in behavior from something else in the game.

In my opinion they are more likely to sit on the sidelines and just and give support to the narrative that helps them instead of overtly pushing one
