I have a good grasp. Robert Greene combines many such theorists into some of the best books on it eber written.
His 33 strategies of war book is a lot better than his 48 laws of power book, even for understanding social power.

Your actions dont show it. When you were moderator, you could have literally ruled from shadows in mod chat and no one would say a word. Instead, you went full public, exposed your intentions completely, tried to visibly control and oppose everyone. Watch the videos so you dont repeat same mistakes in future if you somehow become moderator again.

There's always been a conflict of interest on this site between the people who want rough, free discourse and people who want cleaner conduct with stronger rules. You can't please one without displeasing the other, unless you create different sectors of the site with different moderation policies. The groups you've got planned would accomplish that.
As for new features, goddamn it I miss signatures. Being able to put my favorite quotes in my post sig and stuff. A frivolous request, but me miss mah self-expression.
For rebranding, so far I like DebateOwl, and netspat is really cute. thewarofwords.com isn't bad. It would be abbreviated TWOW, then. Sounds like the noise a minion would make. Or an Ewok.
Rebranding can sometimes rejuvenate, so I'm not opposed to it. I do understand the qualm that debateart sounds like we're debating art... never thought of that, actually. I'd forgotten, but when Mike first chose debateart as the url, I thought it was an odd choice.
