@WyIted
You are always welcome. We are also doing a secondary thing for politics. Max can chime in on when he gets back later

I appreciate that and if you guys ever wanted a cyber security expert to weigh in on some political things in the news such as the signal leak or Russian hackers I can provide an expert opinion or closer than what's easily available. By the time you guys get that organized I will have a BS in cyber security in 5 months.

My perspective is probably more moderate as well so something both sides can chew on because naturally the more nuanced a person's views are on a topic the closer they move to the center with it or at least realize how most sides are wrong.

If you go into cybersecurity career, at the drop of a dime be willing to hand over all emails, accounts and devices you ever had and justify why you forgot or destroyed old ones.

I am not talking about search warrants. You hand it all over on demand and agree to it when entering such career, it is not like other tech paths. You have no entitlement to privacy if you join a cybersecurity firm.

Most companies that want to be that intrusive will just require you to have a top secret clearance and if you go through the process of that the government won't ask for access to things like email but people swear up and down with TS clearances that it felt like the people interviewing them in the process were aware of email communications.

I anticipate the higher you go the more intrusive it would get in the private sector but I seriously doubt any company would ask me for access to my email account. If they did I just would find a different company unless the pay was insane.

Anyway it's hard to know where you end up. The degree is in cyber security but I probably have to start at the bottom like anyone else and the opportunities could be in other places like networking .

I want to attempt to get closer and closer to protecting medical equipment though. They are very vulnerable and a serious threat if any terrorist wanted to target medical devices or specialize in them

Just hit me up for live mafia. I'm open probably about half of friday or saturday nights. I can leave the discord bot running on nights I'm not here.
