Why would I bother to make an argument for an idiot?

It's down to idiots to make their own arguments.

Of course, well placed punctuation might have given the sentence a whole different meaning.

Though rephrasing would have been better.

Machiavelli doesnt make arguments, as arguments dont change anyone's opinion usually. It is much better to indirectly lead people to conclusion.
