This is the kind of advice billionaires give to people, and it is a horrible advice. Why shouldnt you make yourself as useful as possible?

Because people around you will use you to the extreme. Your boss will give you more work. Anyone who can use you, will use you as much as they can.

And worst of all, it wont make you rich. You will just spend most of your life working to the extreme.

And it could even ruin your life. Think about it. Competition is everywhere. If you are most useful worker in military production, you will be primary target of enemies. If your  boss gives you highest wage, other workers will be jealous of you and try to undermine you. The more you climb up, the more you work, the more alone you become and the more enemies you have.

Machiavelli would know that true power remains hidden. The more people see your success and usefulness, the more people will want to take it away from you.

Unlike many 2025 social conservatives may say, I am disgusted by Trump and Musk, Musk more so.

Theyre greedy materialists living  Satanic lifestyle.

In Re:Zero, the Witch of Greed, Echidna, embodies a unique form of "usefulness" through her insatiable thirst for knowledge and her mastery of the Authority of Greed. While her actions are often self-serving, her pursuit of understanding and her ability to manipulate time (through the Authority of Greed) make her a powerful and influential figure, albeit one with questionable morality.

Here's a breakdown of why Echidna's "Greed" is useful:

Knowledge is Power:

Echidna's primary desire is to learn everything about the world and its workings. This thirst for knowledge makes her incredibly insightful and strategic. She can analyze situations, predict outcomes, and manipulate events to her advantage, often using others as pawns in her grand experiment.

Authority of Greed:

Echidna possesses the Authority of Greed, which allows her to manipulate the flow of time on objects and even herself. This ability makes her incredibly powerful, granting her invulnerability to physical attacks and the ability to manipulate time itself within a certain range.

Strategic Manipulation:

Echidna's desire for knowledge isn't just passive. She actively seeks out situations and individuals that can provide her with new information. This often involves manipulating events and people to achieve her goals.

Resurrection and Memory:

Echidna has a unique connection to the Witch of Envy, Satella, and the other Witches of Sin. She can preserve their souls in her dream realm and even siphon their memories. This allows her to access a vast repository of knowledge and experience.

Echidna's "Greed" is not solely about material possessions or power for power's sake. It's a deep-seated desire for understanding and knowledge, which she uses to manipulate and influence the world around her

In essence, Echidna's "Greed" manifests as a relentless pursuit of knowledge and understanding, which she uses to manipulate events and people to further her own goals. While her methods are often morally questionable, her abilities and insights make her a formidable and useful figure in the world of Re:Zero.

Musk treats his employees like absolute dirt and is a deeply misanthropic figure, so I'm not at all surprised he would implore them to 'make themselves useful.'

I'm order to make yourself useful to more people you do have to put. Up some barriers to deal with some of the criticisms you have here.

Its what he wrote on Twitter, and I see plenty of people agree with him thinking it will make them all billionaires.

You know what they say, a sucker is born every minute. Elon's fanbase is full of them. I mean, who else would worship a dude who flat-out told them that they were all too stupid and needed to be replaced by foreigners? Only morons. Or foreigners.

This is one of the laws described in the 48 Laws of Power.: “Find people to do all the work for you, then take all the credit”
One of the anecdotes told the story of Tom Edison’s exploit of Nikola Tesla.

Not sure how good is it to take all credit, but yeah, people think Elon builds rockets because other people are often not even mentioned there. Sometimes it is enough to just not mention others to get all the credit for yourself.

I don't know the context,
But humans often 'like meaning, and being 'useful is often a type of meaning.
Can give them a sense of purpose, of 'why.

In a more 'advantage over others sense,
Useful people are sometimes more valued.
Sure you can teach others how to do X task at work, but then you lose some of your 'value, and become more replicable.

Maybe he's trying to tell you that you shouldn't be a couch potato that trolls on internet all day long while scratching his balls.
