What's your style?

Do you rehearse your points, make out drafts?

Are you looking to learn to understand the opposing stance?

Do you operate with a bias?

Are you liberal , progressive, libertarian?

Why aren't you non liberal?

This is the basis in what you argue for.

I simply have in my notes huge number of arguments. On some topics, I have amount of text enough to write 5 books.

What's your style?
Casual.

Do you rehearse your points, make out drafts?
I make out drafts, yeah, then usually edit them a few times.
If I debated from first drafts, or did in person debates,
I think my quality as a debater would be worse.
. . . Least until I gained experience in that venue.

Are you looking to learn to understand the opposing stance?
Sometimes, sometimes I'm trying to learn from a debate,
And even when not trying so hard to learn, it can be useful to understand where the opponent is coming from in their arguments.

Some past debates I've read the opponents profile, past debates, past comments.
Might try to make arguments or appeals related to their country/culture/beliefs.

Do you operate with a bias?
Yes. Though I think it can be good to dial one's bias back.
Can only convince 'some of the voters, if one only appeals to one's own values.
Can only 'know of 'some arguments, if one tunnel visions oneself.

Are you liberal , progressive, libertarian?
I feel a patchwork of different Isms.
Though I might lean Conservative and Libertarian.

Why aren't you non liberal?
I'm not sure how to define Liberal.
. . .

This is the basis in what you argue for.
I've argued 'some debates on the opposite of what I believe.
If I can't make 'some sort of argument that the opposition might make, that 'isn't in the form of a strawman.
Maybe means I don't actually understand the opposition.

Also been some topics I've felt undecided on, so arguing both sides, can allow me to see what I 'do value and bias for.

What's your style?
Heavy on credible sourcing. I avoid google and wiki. Heavy on logic, historical accuracy, and sound philosophy. Heavy Christian ethic, but not the typical Christian.
Search and destroy ethic relative to opponent's argument.

Are you looking to learn to understand the opposing stance?
Always. How can I effectively rebut an argument I do not understand? It's a given I do not always end up understanding, thus, a higher loss rate than I'd prefer, but I'm more rankled by waging a debate that never sees a vote. Of my debate totals, I think over 11% never have a vote. That upsets me because I currently rank 13th in debate participation and 7th in voting among all debating members, and I expect the same courtesy in my debates.

Do you operate with a bias?
Always, but it may not be my own. I sometimes challenge a debate in which I take the opposing side from my personal bias.

Are you liberal , progressive, libertarian?
None of the above. There are other options. My arguments usually, with the exception of item 3, above, reveal my politick

Why aren't you non liberal?
But I am. Besides, that politick is extinct.

I like casual debate. I've looked into formal debates, but I can't help but find them tedious. Too much like work. Rules, formality, rigor, deadlines. I prefer the freedom and organicness of just debating somebody in the forums. Plus I really like when another person's viewpoint expands my perspective, makes me reconsider.

Why aren't you non liberal?
I have empathy, so my options are limited.

I don't understand libertarianism enough to be qualified debating it, tbh.

Liberalism and Libertarianism are the same corrupt core idea presented under different economic frameworks.

I have 3 different styles I switch between, depending on the user and resolution. Sometimes I miscalculate and underestimate people.

Low-effort and minimalistic against weaker opponents. Victories are usually through a technicality or semantic trap. Cheap wins.

Against equal opponents. Establishing a framework and then providing anecdotes, supporting a specific contention. All my examples and reasons will be cliches, generic, and basic arguments. https://www.debateart.com/debates/6174-it-is-more-likely-that-the-biblical-doctrine-of-jesus-is-heavily-inspired-by-the-lore-of-dionysus

Against stronger opponents. I will be hyper-aggressive and double down on establishing a bulletproof BOP and framework. You can expect a very formalized gish-gallop with strong constructive arguments. Along with source spam. I might even repeat certain points i’m focused on, for clarification and so that voters remember it.
Whiteflame is the best debater on the site, so i’m debating very competitively in our Kirei vs Kiritsugu debate.
He admitted to me that I have the stronger side, but that doesn’t mean i can get lazy. One slip-up against him could mean defeat.

Usually research, get the right words, type up a draft, edit it at least 8 times, then post it.
Still pretty new and can’t really engage in a complex structured argument.

when making rebuttals, I do a split screen, get  main points from Con’s arguments to quote, then type up a rebuttal, add some counter arguments to it, edit it, then release onto website,.
