@RationalMadman
You're lying when you say this won't change the standards.
Nope. There are no substantial differences between the wordings in terms of the standards they impose.

@bsh1
We're not voting on the policy, just on the phrasing of it.  The status quo is the same policy as the suggested in the MEEP. These rephrased policies are designed to say pretty much the same thing but in a more straightforward way.

Do you think the COC is better phrased as-is?
Got it,  perhaps I was thrown by "some slight alterations in vote moderation policy may be implicated." I understand that we're working to make the job of voting little easier by clarification but I'm not convinced that better understanding of an insufficient rule adds much value- like raking leaves with a mop. Still, clarity of purpose is it own benefit and I ought not deny that improvement by intransigence on the larger complaint. You may change my vote on

Should COC (Voting Policy) Section 1, Subsection A, B, C, & D  be replaced?

to a halfhearted "yes."

How can you read my vote and think I put C last or read 3ru7al's vote and think he put D last?
D is my first (preferred) choice.

E is my last (least preferred) choice.

As explained in the OP, your first choice is ranked a 1. Thus, lower numbers are indicative of more support.

My previous vote count was off. Guess that happens when you rush. The above is accurate, I believe. Lower numbers in the ranked choice portion indicate greater voter preference.

I am very glad that C is winning. It is undeniably the most reasonable once you have observed noobs as much as I have.

Are you voting against the standards or the proposed wording of the standards?

Both. Making a long list of things that must be included in a review makes voting seem like a homework assignment.

A vote against the proposal will not change the list of things a voter needs to do.

Time Check

About 5 hours and 15 minutes remain in the regularly scheduled MEEP voting window. This voting window may be subject to a 12 hour extension if there are an insufficient number of participating voters for any one question at the end of the regularly scheduled window.

Is it acceptable for a vote to be placed by an account that isn’t being run or controlled by a real human being?

No because when and if debating is that objective it defeats the entire site's name and also would eliminate the need for voting policy in the first place. In fact, there would be no need for the judgement at all.

^ This assumes you mean replacing humans with AI, not with non-human animals.

Bots, and accounts not controlled by real humans are not covered in the CoC.

I am aware. What is explicit is each account is for one human.

From that we can extend things like if an account is too robotic in its debate-style and such for the admins/mods to force you to film yourself debating live with your fingers in view or something. This is already used by PokerStars; the best poker room at eliminating bots online.

If we can be confident that an account is a bot, then we can remove the vote. However, the presumption is always in favor of accounts not being bots, so there needs to be some concrete and persuasive evidence to the contrary for us to remove votes on that basis.

1. d. Yes.
2. No.
3. Yes, although this will probably lessen the number of people willing to judge a debate and extend the time it takes to judge a debate.
4. Yes, although this could also be considered a matter of opinion in regards to subsection C depending on one's worldview bias.
5. Yes.
6. Yes.

I am working on a way to assess the ranked choice system, since not everyone who voted provided a complete ranking by the voting window's end. Please wait patiently until a final vote count can be announced.

Results

Proposals 2-6 have met the criteria for adoption, and those proposals will take effect in the coming days. Proposal 1 has also met the criteria for adoption, but, due to the close nature of the vote between options B and C, a runoff is necessary to determine a winner. Therefore, please look for a MEEP to be held in the next 2-3 weeks which will include this runoff, as well as a few other issues which need to be put to a community vote.

Thank you again to all who have participated. As always, it was good to get the community's feedback on these important issues, and we hope this overhaul of the voting policies will foster more robust and honest voting practices in the future. This MEEP will be switched to read-only sometime within the next 24 hours.
