I don't think people will comment on the ads themselves in the forum. It doesn't happen on DDO. They're not a good site, but one good thing about them is you don't see people commenting on the ads on their screen. They're messed up for other reasons.
Should DART have ads?

What are you saying? I am saying the ads will interfere with a person's comment or debate argument. If all you got is "I don't think" realise you are not making a good argument.I don't think people will comment on the ads themselves in the forum.It doesn't happen on DDO.I use Adblock and I can't really find too many people even knew there was ads. So not a good example because most people on the site use Adblock and if someone did a survey on this site I am sure most people would have Adblock on.They're not a good site, but one good thing about them is you don't see people commenting on the ads on their screen.This is not what I said. I said they intrude a person's argument or comment if you are spending time on looking at the ad they have less attention on the argument or comment. -

Next time when you think something is a good idea do provide evidence. I have done the same and I won't making a claim for until I can find a survey from this site or DDO that most people don't use Adblock.I don't have ad block. I don't know if most people do or not.Anyone that doesn't would help contribute to DART.There are other ways to contribute to DA other then with money.People don't comment on the ads themselves.What point are you making? My argument is that it distracts people from making comments or arguments so basically the more time a person looks at ads the less time they are spending on making arguments or comments. -
I fully support the presence of ads. They just have to be reasonable ones (as in not the ones that hijack our browsers).A small revenue stream keeps a site up. Even with the low cost of running this site, it is currently an optional expense to be done away with during hard times (removing all content from the net). If it began to say have a $0.25 net profit, it's something to at worst ignore.

Firefox browser has recently blocked a huge list of third party software, all ad blockers have been eliminated. Time to switch to Chrome.

Dude, this site has yet to raise itself to the level of being unprofessional. Novice, hack, beginner are better terms to describe this site. Perhaps, you need to get out more and visit well run forums to see what they're actually like.It makes the site look cluttery and unprofessional. -
--> @DebateArt.comI would enjoy advertisements on the sides as long as they are appropriate ads. I guess I am used to seeing them.

Maybe BSH1 can have a vote on site ads. You guys might be surprised how many members would support it, and the site can't exist without the members.

Good Gott no, I can just picture it now:"30 million people are playing this adult dating sim find out why""They thought nobody was filming CLICK THE LINK NOW YOU SHAMELESS PERV!""You won't BELIEVE what these child actors look like now""50 keto diet tips for slimmer waistline"*Naruto videogame except with scantily clad women*"Amazing Pikachu and Eevee fanart designed by furries""Hillary Clinton plastic surgery find out more"

--> @bsh1(Also, no ads please...unless they feature shirtless guys with washboard abs.)Your gay? I don't mean that in a rude way, so don't block me for saying anything against the CoC.
-
--> @AlecOh yeah. I'm hella gay.
-
--> @bsh1Set up a vote?
-
--> @GreyparrotMaybe. In June.

When Mike realises that to get Ad revenue, you need to reveal your true identity or true corporation on the website in order to maintain ownership of the revenue stream (if you own an LLC, you have to reveal your identity so this is not a false dichotomy), then I think he will opt out.
-
--> @AlecSince the owner whines about money all the time it's a good idea.
-
--> @Polytheist-WitchHe does? Can you provide evidence for that?
-
--> @AlecDo it yourself. I am not your bitch.
-
--> @Polytheist-WitchYou made the claim. I'm not sure if it's accurate.
-
--> @AlecSo what if I did? If you want to research it do it yourself.

Ads don't bring in members, they bring in revenues at the cost of it's membership. Members join and stay if the forum is well run and doesn't have ads, but this forum is not well run, it's abysmal. This can easily be seen via the statistics and the fact they're talking about putting in ads. It's easy to see that this site is not flourishing or ever will until bsh is fired and they get someone in here who knows what they're doing. Putting in ads is just another slap in the face of the membership here.You guys might be surprised how many members would support it, and the site can't exist without the members. -
--> @DebateArt.comi didn't even notice that you could donate to this site until someone asked why RM had the colors spin around his profile pic (we should name that spin thing something) much less have a patreon you should advertise it a bit more but not be to obnoxious about it like create a form with a link to it or something if there isn't one or something else
-
--> @dave2242Yeah, you are probably right, but I really don't want to be intrusive about it.
-
--> @DebateArt.comtalk to the mods about it to decide what to do.but my recommendation is to just to a view only post and pin it like the rules just put it at the bottom of them and just word it well at not seem like you are asking for money
-
--> @dave2242It might be possible to mention it in some of the pinned threads.
