Is man an omnivore or is he a frugivore/vegetarian?

Is it possible man is a frugivore and not an omnivore or carnivore? for the sake of argument lets say "vegetarian" which would include frugivores and raw foodists as well. Now, to answer that question first think back before the time when man began to cook its food over fires, and was forced to look for alternative foods like killing animals to survive. If you take a close examination of a carnivores/meat eaters anatomy you see quite clearly that it is designed to quickly eliminate meat products and therefore less worry of putrefaction. Did you know meat eaters, true carnivores sleep many hours of a days period? Big cats can sleep up to 20 hours out of a 24 hour period.
A cats anatomy is equipped to kill, and tolerate a high protein diet but they pay a price for that diet too, forcing them, to digest and sleep many hours out of a day even with a digestive system meant to handle it.On the other end of the spectrum look at the energy and stamina and power of apes, horses, elephants, gorillas and vegetarian frugivore species. Look at the intelligence levels in primates, they are primarily frugivores and vegetarian eaters. They are all also very active, way more than true carnivores, keeping in ind bears account for omnivores not carnivores. Actually a bears diet is high in berries first, then vegetation and then meat lastly unless its the grizzlies before hibernation of course to put on fat layer. Take a look at this chart below...
https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pVwGffIYzsk/WGPbPxUVPzI/AAAAAAAAG8E/aBUglNY3inwfddJjVk9uYLj_ZoK2AeojwCLcB/s1600/Claudia+Sutton+-+Humans+Are+Frugivores+Comparative+Anatomy+-+Carnivore+Omnivore+Herbivore+Frugivore.jpg

Fruits are also associated with brain size and intelligence, if you look at the delicacy of a humans form they are meant to "pick and eat", not attack and kill and eat flesh. Humans also flourish on raw fruit and vegetarian diets rather than meat and starch based diets. Islander diet- "Islander foods are nutrient-dense, the meals are prepared in healthy ways and oils are used sparingly. The high-fibre, low-fat nature of these diets reduces the risk of heart disease, hypertension, stroke, diabetes, obesity and certain forms of cancer."Raw Food diet-"Raw foodism (or following a raw food diet) is the dietary practice of eating only uncooked, unprocessed foods. Depending on the exact philosophy or type of lifestyle and results desired, raw food diets may include a selection of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, eggs, fish, meat and dairy products."We know man had to adapt to harsher climates and is considered an "omnivore" that's not the question, what do you think man is more suited for naturally and health wise? keeping in mind most human meat eaters aren't just consuming a little piece of dead meat here and there, most meat eaters eat meat three times a day perhaps more.

Humans have no problem eating just about anything. What is the reason humans love the taste of meat and are drawn to it?

Well they may be able to consume many things, it's not necessarily true they have no problems eating just about anything actually man has many problems with eating the wrong foods. You might want to check the medical statistics, are you not from America? the medical conditions of many Americans is alarming. The death rate from heart problems, kidney malfunction, obesity, cancer ect ect is very high and foods like meats, cheeses, starches, milks, beans, grains, processed foods, processed snacks, fast food the list goes on and on but you will never see fruits, veggies and raw foods on the list of culprits to mans suffering.

It could be that many people that eat meat were raised eating it with every meal like I was. Was influenced to believe that we need it, and that we need proteins from dead meat. Something about cooking meat over a fire that smells so good but anything cooked on a fire smells good lol, no IDK why humans like to eat flesh so much but once I stopped eating it I find it kinda gross. But I'm also a great cook, and I can make just about anything without meat.
I think if you were to place a table of fruit and a table full of dead meat in front of a bunch of young kids that have not been forced to believe they need it I'm pretty sure they are going to be drawn to that fruit not the meat. Now put a carnivore like a big cat and you will see the difference.

I guess....some of my kids do eat meat, but TBH they are very naturally picky about it. Fruits are alive and beautiful, tastes great when ripe, nothing better really.

I've heard scientists say that eating meat was important to our early evolution. It's packed with protein and fuel, and the human brain is an energy hog. I've also heard it suggested that many animals can get away with a vegetarian diet because they don't have that energy hogging human brain they have to feed.

It's quite possible they got that confused with fruit consumption Castin, fruits have the highest content of nutritional and electrical value and is slowly coming to light that fruits were responsible for bigger brains, intelligence, not dead meat. Look at the links I supplied, specifically the one where it shows the difference between meat eaters and us as humans. Why are carnivores designed in such a way to process meat and humans are not? if we needed proteins from dead meat why are there so many people that do not eat meat? I GUARANTEE you that a raw food, fruit diet produces much more energy than a cooked meat diet any day of the week. If meat were such an energy booster why does everyone get tired after they eat it? it's hard to digest, it putrefies in the colon, it causes heart and kidney problems among other things. Look at the big cats which are true carnivores, they sleep 20 hours out of a 24 hour day cycle. That's the price cats pay for a high protein diet.
I don't eat meat anymore, have no need for it and never did eating meat give me energy actually the opposite. When I eat a fruit, vegetarian raw food diet there is no comparison in energy, not even close.

Here's an article about it I remembered: https://www.livescience.com/24875-meat-human-brain.html (I did read your articles as well.)

For the most part, larger bodies have larger brains across species. Yet humans have exceptionally large, neuron-rich brains for our body size, while gorillas — three times more massive than humans — have smaller brains and three times fewer neurons. Why?

The answer, it seems, is the gorillas' raw, vegan diet (devoid of animal protein), which requires hours upon hours of eating only plants to provide enough calories to support their mass.

For gorillas to evolve a humanlike brain, they would need an additional 733 calories a day, which would require another two hours of feeding, the authors wrote. A gorilla already spends as much as 80 percent of the tropic's 12 hours of daylight eating.

Similarly, early humans eating only raw vegetation would have needed to munch for more than nine hours a day to consume enough calories, the researchers calculated. Thus, a raw, vegan diet would have been unlikely given the danger and other difficulties of gathering so much food.

Cooking makes more foods edible year-round and releases more nutrients and calories from both vegetables and meat, Herculano-Houzel said.

"The bottom line is, it is certainly possible to survive on an exclusively raw diet in our modern day, but it was most likely impossible to survive on an exclusively raw diet when our species appeared," Herculano-Houzel told LiveScience.

That last paragraph sums it up pretty well imo. We don't *need* meat now, but we once did. As for your other mentions:

  • Getting it confused with fruit -- The tests that determined fruit led to brain growth were only ever conducted on monkeys, I thought. All they proved is that fruit helps monkey brains grow.
  • Why are carnivores designed for meat and we are not -- Well, we're not exclusively carnivores, so we don't need specialized carnivore organs, perhaps. We also don't have multiple stomachs, or a rumen, because we're not exclusively herbivores either. Our digestive tracts are longer than a carnivore's but shorter than an herbivore's.
  • If we need meat protein so bad why do so many people not eat meat -- Because they don't strictly have to in this day and age. Availability of resources and knowledge means your average vegan can easily substitute the missing nutrients in their diet.
  • If meat gives energy why does everyone get tired after they eat it -- I wasn't aware everyone did. People get tired after big meals though. Nap or no nap, that meat is still going to turn into energy for you later.
  • Big cats, carnivores, and sleep: I thought big cats slept so much because most of them are nocturnal hunters?

To put it simply, man is an omnivore. People had a mixed diet of whatever was available to them where they lived. If they lived where large animals were, expect them to eat mammoth, buffalo, etc. By rivers and coastlines(?), fish made up a big portion. Innuits are like exclusive carnivores since there is no vegetation up there for them to eat; they have a diet of seals, whales, and 'whatever' else is living up there.

Now, many people aren't really restricted by geographical location with regard to where we get their food from, which definitely allows people to be a lot more pickier with their diets and ascribe to the belief that humans are only supposed to eat vegetables and fruit, ba ba ba.

It would appear that what is and is not a herbivore is not quite so cut and dry as we seem to think. Even "vegetarian" animals don't turn their nose up at the occasional meaty snack.

Ive read it takes two to 3 days days to digest a steak dinner.

Vegetables in  12 hours ergo half or third of the time processing in the gut.

We are 15,000 years past paleolithic era. There is absolutely no need to eat meat.

Cow farming will become a hobbie/pastime for 1st world countries in 100 years from now, if humanity moves mind forward into the future and not the current butt forward into the future.

Way too much jungle is cleared for cow farming and that only leads uneccessary methane produciton ergo more uncalled for greenhouse gases.

Why feed soy to cow when we can feed it straight the human and cut out the middle man. This a minimal brainer.

Meat vs vegetable.

Meat nutritious but serious short and long term side issues.

Vegetables win/win/win

This is a minimal  brainer for humans who are that have been primarily omin-vores for thousand of years if not millions of years.

Do you have areading comprehension disability and memory problems? Read my lips/text as follows if you can.

Is Man an Omnivore?

Is the title of this thread. Do you even understand what the question is that you asked?

When I state human{s} that includes man and woman. Do you understand that?

When you want, to not play mind games with me, then please communicate something of significant intellectual content.

Well I've never heard of a Neolithic tribe that didn't hunt animals and there is extensive archeological evidence that early man was a very successful hunter and in modern society vegetarian humans are the exception not the rule so based solely on behavioral observations of the animal in question man is an omnivore. Not only that but the mire we learn about animals and their eating habits the more we come to realize that even "herbivorous" animals will eat meat when presented with the chance.
That is not a mind game it is a fact.
