by the way we are not allowed to physically say 'a person is online' either here or on DDO (or even on DI etc) and then use the fact they are lurking here against them.

The reason is this is a line called outside-of-game influence (OGI) which is one where once you cross it you can use all kind of outer-game influences to unfairly get accurate reads which makes the game very unfair on the mafia side.

I am saying this not as I am mafia but because this is a beginner game and some here may not realise that's a cheating method of reading (not saying don't think about it I am saying you cannot type it as your reason)

@David
You can easily be tryhard maf trying to be so leader-like that you're nearly guaranteed a win.

He is either tryhard maf or tryhard town. He is easily both and I can't tell which.

Lurking doesn't automatically mean scum. Even townies lurk if they feel unmotivated to play. Plus the lurking reason has always been used for reasonings why this person is town/scum. But like what I said, even townies lurk so that reasoning for scum/town doesnt hold much weight. Also the online status isnt accurate sometimes.

I absolutely agree with this. OGI should never be allowed and is a modkillable offense on MU

Cause this is a beginners series, and thus intended to impart valuable lessons on gameplay and etiquette I will say that most mods will not take the use of OGI too kindly.

Plus, like DDO, unless you log out, this site keeps you logged in for a bit, even if you close browser. So its not even a solid rational basis for cases anyways 🤔

@XLAV
It has much more benefit to the town of any game to use OGI than the mafia. I never said 100% town but it's like 92% town-beneficial and 8% mafia-beneficial if town are the lurkers or other things.

OGI was a rule made to protect the fairness of the game on scum, not to protect town.

If you are going away why not unvote me in case of blitz?

I'll need to add a lesson on OGI to future beginner series with mostly new players. Thanks for bringing that to my attention guys and/or gals 👏👏

I really think you should stay out of the game and not only answer questions privately. Mod spewing information can harm game integrity.

Didn't people use DDO site activity against lurking players all the time? There's a line to be drawn on OGI but I don't think it's ever been drawn that hard around here.

theres a fundamental difference between saying “Player X is online and active elsewhere except for here and thus he’s probably scum” vs lynching within the no posters.

Meh. I don't think this is worth worrying about here. Not yet, at least.

And barely anything for maf to have gone on for a doc.

This has been utterly ruined by Virtuoso forcing me to out the mechanics but I still believe some mafia will gamble to get rid of doc or rid of a smart/obvous townie hoping it's doc.

We have better odds of lynching scum than the doctor has of preventing a night kill. You're leaving the fate of the game more in the mafia's hands if you vtnl.

I want a blue to die. Thanks for forcing me to state this. A blue dying helps us more than anything.

Now that I have typed this, mafia are going to play optimally and the purpose of the NL which would help me know mafia have at least one math-heavy experienced non-beginner among them is defeated.

Why on earth would a green dying be helpful to town?

Letting two townspeople die before we can get information for a lynch is a dumbass idea.

If green means town, When you lose cop, the only way to narrow down mafia objectively is for people to die.

Really, Daystart? Anyway, we could nl. I believe that is the meta on EM. If I want to NL depends on Budda's answer.

@Budda

Does the day end when we come to a lymch, or do we have to wait the full 3 days?

Can't reply to my own posts. I remember it is meta for town to NL in Fancy Pants, not classic.
