There are too many generals who served in both theaters for that to work. Regardless, there's no way to figure out the theme in DP1. We'll have to see some flips, especially mafia flips, before that becomes possible.

Grant, Johnston, and Longstreet fought on both fronts, and those are only the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I don't think East vs. West is really possible.
