Italy played a great game in that second half. They had a better pace and really slowed down England. England pushed on the brakes too early and as a result gave up the DiNucci goal.

How that 96th minute horse collar not a red card? That's a flag in football, let alone soccer.

The pens were poorly planned by England. Why would you have the 2 youngest players take shots late into pens when they have very little experience at that stage.

it wasn't a red, certainly a yellow and a overall smart play although dirty

Foul play has always been a part of the game.

And Italy dominated.

And as one would expect, England lost the penalty kicking contest.....It's become something of a tradition.

Not to worry....World Cup soon.

Debateable. It was clear he wasn't making an attempt or strike at the ball at all with the horse collar. It's borderline red but I lean more red. If you actively try to hurt the other team without making a dive for the ball I'd consider it a red

On top of that utterly filthy play, there was a stomp on a leg of a player shortly after that was 100% red card territory where the ref only gave yellow.

yeah it is debatable and it does look bad but pulling on shirts is a common yellow card and the referee was far away so he would just thinking yellow
