I feel the need to masturbate every single day. I get turned on so easily that I think about it even while I am praying. I am ashamed to confess it to my parents. They literally have no clue. I keep thinking about masturbation every day and how to control my thoughts. My urges to masturbate keep getting stronger. I have the constant urge to masturbate. I cant stop thinking about it.

I downloaded a lot of Al programs to help me solve the problem, as I dont believe in human medicine.

The Al app on my phone tells me its normal to masturbate and its nothing to be ashamed of.

So I had a discussion with Al. I pointed out that I am a believer and that I cant afford to keep thinking about masturbation while I am praying to God.

The Al suggested meditation, so I will try with that. But even medidation is hard because I keep THINKING ABOUT MY GENITALS.

"Masturbation is a sexual stimulation that is not just very pleasurable, but helps relieve sexual urges." - Al on my phone.

While I am sure this is posted to troll and get a reaction, this is actually a good chance for me to show how Daoism/Taoism and the mentality involved with it is better than Buddhism or any other mainstream religion.

All other ideologies, even if they incorporate meditation as Buddhism and Islam do, focus on repression and ignoring the urge. This is futile and at best turns you into a low libido person who doesn't enjoy sex much at all anymore.

What I want you to do, the next time you try to meditate or the next time you are sitting alone, battling the urge, is to not just breathe deep and try to empty your mind but to breathe deep and start to put gaps in your breathing while focusing hard on the breathing.

So, instead of 'innnnnn, deep breathe' 'exhaaaaaleee' it's 'inhale, 3 seconds' *pause, holding it in for 2 seconds* 'exhaaaaaaale' *pause, letting yourself experience lacking the breath for 1.5 seconds*

Keep doing this and trying to extend the times until you find a really good pace for you. As the urge creeps back in and your mind is only able to focus on it, welcome the thought. Welcome the improper images, desires and anxiety you have over it. Make sure you keep breathing deep and slowly, forcing your body to be calm even if your mind isn't.

Then, as your mind fills with those thoughts, do not try to empty it but instead try to think of other things you enjoy like this debate website, other hobbies you have. Even think of school, think of your parents, think of the universe and how small you are compared to all reality. Let your mind completely fill, not empty at all, with many thoughts and avenues.

You will eventually find that you have reached a stage where you need to masturbate less. However, it should be noted that assuming you're experiencing puberty, your libido is going to have periods (months even) where you're bursting with the urge. It may genuinely be better for you to wank now and again than to keep repressing it. However, there is a level that's addiction and it is fine to want to cut down.

Over time but approaching meditation as a 'fill your mind and think of everything in life' exercise rather than an 'empty the mind' exercise, you will find that when you get the urge, your mind automatically is able to distract itself easier from the distracting urge and thoughts and revert to thinking about what you want to think about. It's a Taoist approach to meditation and works far better than the ones focused on sheer discipline and mind-emptying because it lets your mind flow away from the thought instead of making you unnaturally stop your mind processing the thought.

What do you think about binaural sound apps? Do they help with meditation?

Binaural sounds won't help with anything like that.

Binaural sound 'therapy' is kind of real but is not entirely healthy. The healthy way to get your brain to alpha and beta waves when alert is to have properly rested with the delta and theta waves.

Avoid gamma waves altogether.

I don't know too much about it because I realised into it that because of what it does (forcing the brain), you get severe headaches and sleep problems if you start indulging in it a lot.

"you get severe headaches and sleep problems"

I never had a headche in my entire life. I dont even know what that feels like.

But I do have sleep problems. Always had it. I dont think sound therapy can make it worse.

I assumed that these binaural sounds were for meditation, since most of them have sounds that help cause euphoria and relaxation.

I dont know if the effect diminishes over time. I have just started using them.

No. Binaural beats never cause euphoria but delta waves can help with relaxing.

If you start doing that artificially, your brain gets very confused and wild.

The waves are real, that part is true but the brain is supposed to have the vibrations matching its pace, if you start using artificial soundwaves to force the brain into another pace of vibrating and operating, it will have issues later on. I firmly believe that binaural beats are a scam but because they are real, they are not a fraud.

The scam is that they have any long-term benefits at all.

You can even get hearing issues from how hard the sound waves penetrate.

Delta 0.9 Hz  causes euphoria. Thats what app says.

The thing is, you have to be in bad or neutral mood when you use it. If you already are in good mood, you wont notice much difference.

It does help to fix the mood. I tried it when I was bored, and I felt joy after 1 minute of listening.

But today I also combined it with voice apps that tell  inspirational stories that are also supposed to cause euphoria.

I will test if the effect perishes after some time, maybe month.

I agree that they might damage hearing if used too much. I am not sure. I just started using them few days ago.

Your brain is not meant to experience that leap.

You can get serious issues if your brain associates the experience of boredom with sudden bursts of euphoria but you will realise later the harms.

I see you ignored my advice entirely. Meditation is about natural mental refining and exploration, not artificial augmentation of it.

I think it's a common misconception that Buddhism teaches asceticism. The Buddha tried this and actually says it's generally not a good thing to do. Instead, he says others should opt for the "middle way." If we did not postpone/filter our desires through our reason when they arise, the world would be filled with rapists, murderers, and so on. Buddhism does say trying to fulfill desire is pointless, but it is also unavoidable. You should just be non-attached while partaking in them so as to not self inflict pain.

Sure buddy, you trust this link that even admits that Buddhism has hyperabstinence as a core tenet or covsersely overindulgence in some sects.

That link proves me so wrong, sure.

Buddhist meditation is about emptying the mind (which is extremely antihuman-nature to even fathom) and the purpose is to become empty of earthly desires and impulses, which is a futile aim.

Where would the motivation to continue to pray come from?

If Best.Korea masturbates after he prays daily. You can be assured he will pray daily.

Read his OP. Best.Korea is a creature of habit. Good or bad.

Perhaps a practice all those Catholic Fathers should have adopted Doc.

Instead of getting altar boys to do it for them.

Thats the problem. They put you in Church and tell you: "dont have sex and dont watch porn and dont masturbate". In the behinning, it seems easy. However, after a while, you realise it gets really difficult. The desires grow too strong to the point where you are ready to engage in homosexuality just to have sex.

It's almost as if you are speaking from experience.

Nonetheless, expecting virile men to be celibate is a bit like asking a bee not to buzz.

And if one expects a virile man not to masturbate then one might as well hit one's head against a brick wall.

It's called sex drive and though basically for the purposes of procreation, humans have developed alternative methods for recreational satisfaction.

And religion is essentially pseudo- hypothetical bollocks.

Wherein some theists think that religion should preside over sexuality.

But sexuality says up yours.

And so, a lot of theists are consequently extremely hypocritical.

I masturbated 2-3 times per day on average, which lasted 1-2 hours per day.

It was too much time, and it started to affect everything. Everything became boring to me.

I was able to stop, mostly thanks to voice apps and overuse of sound therapy apps.

It will be interesting to hear Kim Jung-un ordering Koreans like you to stop masturbating.

This sounds like a good method. Right now I am using this one and all the other methods, since almost every app suggests different methods for breathing and different methods of meditation.

There are many apps that tell you exactly when to inhale, exhale and hold breath.

So I decided to not pick just one method, but I decided to try all methods.

I was able to significantly decrease my boredom and stress by applying all the breathing and meditation methods I found.

I also combined it with sound and voice therapy, and Al chat bots, and motivational videos.

Years before I relied on psychiatric drugs, but none of them worked and they are terribly expensive and they have a bunch of side effects, with little to no benefit. Side effects sometimes outweight the benefits to the point where benefits keep decreasing and you have to keep increasing the dose to gain benefits.

the only way to contain libido is using them wayyy too much. at least that's what i feel like. That would be: sleeping with girls multiple times or masturbating a whole lot. I just play with myself till I'm too tired and mostly I can live another few weeks peacefully.
what they tell you in church is bullshit. that's not even science u dont need to be guilty at all lmao

why not look out for pills that can help. u could see a doctor. or try to find food that helps.

u have a wanky nickname dude. why not search the word 금딸 if you're korean.

I've never really paid 'much attention to what church says on the subject,
But arguments against it, can fit into science easy enough I'd figure,
Not that I'm saying people should or should not.

People are partially formed of their experiences,
Some experiences are habit forming,

Experiences being what they are, forming of character,
It's not a crazy argument that looking and thinking about smut, can leave an imprint on a person's mind,
Greater the time or impact, greater the impression, one would suppose.

. . .

That being said, people are also formed of themselves, their material, genetics, set habits,
People vary in libido,
Probably easy for low libido to avoid,
Hard for high, to avoid.

Some habits like beer, easier to avoid, never start,
But harder to avoid ever starting an 'idea, being born with the parts as humans are.

. . .

Still, I doubt that the 'only way to control it, is to use it,
Though might be that works for some people,

To me it'd seem more likely that using it, increases it,
Habits like rivers, cut deeper a channel, more they flow.

By the time you give all your reasons for masturbating you will be done. So what did you learn from all this self analysis?
